Kia EV9 Is the flagship Kia Electric SUV Recently launched in the USA to rival big brands like BMW and Mercedes and take the lead in the SUV race.
Kia EV9 to make its launch by 2024
Kia EV9 will be priced around ₹ 1 crore Ex-showroom India
On the outside, the New Electric Kia gets quite a cool combination of Straight SUV looks with a subtle Electric car finish, where at the front we get vertical lights with LED Dots to perform the wide beam function and a long LED DRL which extends outside the LED light to give a more connected feel. Both the Headlights are connected by a long horizontal LED bar giving the signature Electric SUV looks, (I don’t know why electric cars get connected lights). The entire front bumper is covered to make the vehicle more aerodynamic with more Sporty looks in the GT Line variants.
On the side, the EV9 gets looks inspired by the Kia Telluride, where we get semi-octagonal wheel arches finished in gloss black finish, housing the fully covered box-shaped alloys and giving the vehicle a more rugged look. The window panes are quite big increasing the glass-to-body ratio of the vehicle and providing a roomier feel on the inside. The door panels are all straight with integrated door handles, and the roof line is completely straight with functional roof rails on the top. The doors get big cladding at the bottom with some extra grey add-ons to make the vehicle look more rugged. The last quarter glass has the signature upward window line from other Kia vehicles.
The back of the vehicle has some mixed opinions as some people don’t like it and some hate it, where we get vertical boomerang-shaped lights, which have a horizontal extension and black surrounds, and the back door is completely plain with the Kia logo at the center, at the top is the rear Spoiler with black inserts. The rear bumper also gets the black glossy finish connected with the side cladding and housing some more grey rear bumper insert.
On the inside the Kia has focused mainly on practicality where on the dash you get a dual 10-inch screen setup and a four-spoke steering wheel with buttons on all the spokes. The dashboard gets a fabric finish with integrated buttons, the Center console is not connected due to the absence of a transmission, where you get two large cup holders and a wireless charging pad.
At the rear, you get simple seats with a cool rotating function where the seats rotate to face backward, and the last row of seats doesn’t get much space and is optimal for children. On the roof, there is a big panoramic sunroof that covers almost the entire roof of the vehicle.
The EV9 will also be the first Kia model to offer vehicle system over-the-air updates, a strategic move towards software-defined vehicles, as well as navigation-based charging guidance using arrival time and distance-to-empty estimates. The EV9 is designed to be a mobile power source, thanks to an Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and V2L
The EV9 will offer a standard, advanced ultra wideband-based Digital Key, which allows customers to use their compatible Apple and Samsung smart devices or an NFC-enabled smart card as virtual vehicle keys to lock, unlock, and drive.
The new Kia EV9 also gets ADAS Level 2 to make the driving experience much better and also gets Kia Drive Wise active driver assistance suite, including High Beam Assist (HBA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA-2), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC).
As standard, the Kia EV9 gets a basic 77 kWh battery and a 160 kW battery producing 215 hp and also gets a long-range 99 kWh version to give north of 500 km of range and for the performance audience a dual motors version producing 380hp will also be sold.
The new 2024 Kia EV9 is expected to launch by mid-2024 in India at an expected price of ₹ 90 Lakh ex-showroom India making it the Most Expensive Kia vehicle to launch in India.
