The 2024 SuzukiSwift has been showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. We all knew that Suzuki was going to unveil the updated version of their Swift, but we were surprised by seeing so many features coming with it, too. Unfortunately, everything is not what it seems to be, as there are many walls that are present between the showcased 2024 Suzuki Swift and the India-bound 2024 Suzuki Swift. Want to know what those are? Let us dive into this matter.

About the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift

The updated 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is pretty much the same. It still follows the traditional design language the Swift has had over the years. In fact, the underpinnings of the vehicle have been kept unchanged. Even after all these similarities, Suzuki still prefers calling the new updated Swift the 4th Generation Suzuki Swift.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift's Front Design -

The 2024 Suzuki Swift is pretty much the same, as mentioned earlier. Well, the same goes with its design, too. If we have a look at its front, we might find the whole front fascia to be appearing almost the same.

New Design for the Grille -

The grille still has the same tucked-down design. Earlier, the grille had a pentagonal shape, but this time, it is more round, making it look like a hexagon. Still, it looks very nice, as this new grille has a thick borderline, and the whole grille has been given a Glossy Black treatment. 

The design elements inside this new glossy black grille of the 2024 Suzuki Swift have also been revised. Earlier, the Swift had a simple mesh-like design running inside the grille; this time, it has gotten thicker and has more of a kite-like design merging into each other. Therefore, the grille of the new 2024 Suzuki Swift looks premium and goes well with the overall design language of the vehicle.

We can spot some technological additions, such as a Radar for the ADAS system and the Front Camera unit of the 360-degree Camera system .

New Front Fascia -

The rest of the front is very simple and free-flowing. In fact, you might notice that the Suzuki logo has now found a new place above the grille, and the hood opening has been shifted further behind the logo. We could see a similar kind of design in Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx.

This makes the design look more straightforward and classy. These classy design bits really go nice over the Swift, as it always had this circular, round shape to it.

New LED Headlamps -

The 2024 Suzuki Swift has received an updated design for its headlamps, too. Previously, the Swift used to get a curvy-designed housing for its Headlamp units, but the new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift has gotten a harper design for its headlamps. 

The equipment underneath the housing has also been revised by adding a new single LED projector beam, unlike the halogen in the current Swift model. The LED DRLs also get a sharper design for themselves, and below the DRL has been placed the Indicator.

If we have a look at the lower bumper, we can spot the Foglamps, as well. Earlier, the placement for the Foglamps was similar and also had a connected kind of housing. But, this time, the Foglamps have been kept independent, and adding more to it, they also are in LEDs.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift's Side Design

The Side of the car is also a part of its redesign program. We can see that this time, it is more simple and has straight lines running around the side. This update makes the 2024 Suzuki Swift look more proportionate and basic from its side, as the window area and the body area have nothing much going around in terms of design. There is this straight line that starts from the front wheel arch and runs throughout the side of the vehicle till the rear Tail lights.

New Alloy wheels -

Unlike the current Swift’s simple spoked Alloys, the 2024 Suzuki Swift receives a set of sharp-looking Alloys. These Alloys finally suit the overall design language of the Swift, as the previous ones were very basic in terms of their look.

New Door Handles -

The 2024 Suzuki Swift gets a set of new Door Handles. The previous generation Swift got its rear Door handle integrated into the D-Pillar, but this time, Suzuki decided to go with the traditional placements for the Door Handles - on the Side Body panel.

This change also makes the window area look simpler and usual, as earlier, due to the design of the Swift, we used to get a Floating kind of Roofline. But this time, as the Door Handles have been relocated to their usual spot, we can see the design of that particular area is more basic now.

We can also see a new feature added beneath the ORVMs, the Side Camera unit of the 360-degree Camera system .

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift's Rear Design

The Rear profile of the car has also been re-sketched. This time, it has been designed in a simpler format, as we cannot see any curvy edges throughout the vehicle's rear. The ‘ simplicity ’ adjective proves itself more when we look at the line running from above the logo, which started from the Front wheel arch. So, the design of the rear, too, is like the rest, it is very simple and straightforward. The brand has not taken any risks of doing something extraordinary of sorts. We can spot a lot of changes made to the rear, as well; let us point them out one by one.

Bigger Rear Glass -

The Rear-view Glass of the 2024 Suzuki Swift is much bigger than the previous generation Swift. It seems to look as if it has stretched downwards. This is a welcome change, no doubt, as the rear of the vehicle can be more clear and more visible from the inside. 

We can notice a Spoiler over the Rear-view Glass. It is, too, a great addition, as it makes the rear of the vehicle look more sporty and enhances the modern factor of the car.

New Tail lamps -

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a new design for its Tail lamps, too. It is very different than the Tail lamps which we have usually seen in this particular segment. Suzuki has tried to do something else with the Tail lamps by giving them a ‘Smoky’ effect. 

Speaking of the equipment in use. The whole tail lamp lights up with LEDs and has also received a different design inside as well. The main Brake light can be seen given an inverted ‘C’ shape, which covers the three LED dots - which are also used for the Brake light - and the Reverse Light, too. The Indicator of the car is placed below the Brake light; though it is not LED, it uses a normal bulb. 

All this is good undoubtedly, though we have one issue, which is that they look kind of ‘ After Market ’. In India, we have seen a lot of owners changing their lights and replacing them with a sharper and mostly smoky effect light. Due to this, Suzuki doing the same thing with the 2024 Swift’s Tail lamps, it kind of reminds us of that.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift's Interiors

The brand has also redone the 2024 Suzuki Swift’s interiors. Well, to be honest, they actually haven’t been redone; rather than designing new Interiors, Suzuki decided to Copy-Paste the Brezza Interiors into the 2024 Swift. The whole layout of the Interiors looks very similar to the one in the Brezza, though they have done a few tweaks here and there, but still, it is identical. The AC vents, the placement of the Infotainment Screen, the Instrument Cluster, the Steering wheel, and the Climate Control system all these units are all exactly similar to the ones in the Brezza. Okay, we know what you are thinking. Does the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift get nothing new inside? Well, it does, but just a few differences, which are -

New Infotainment Screen -

Though the placement of the Infotainment system is similar to the one in Brezza, as said, but the screen used inside it is very different and new, as well. This screen has never been spotted in any Maruti Suzuki car before, so it obviously makes it new. 

The details about the Infotainment screen have not been released yet, but we assume that the Infotainment screen would be a 10-inch unit. 

We can also see a new UI / UX in use for the new screen, though it is very dicey for this new software to be available in the India-bound 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift.

But, there is one problem with this, if you don’t know, there have been a lot of complaints from the customers of Baleno, Brezza, Grand Vitara, etc, who all pack such a dashboard layout that the Infotainment screen kind of intervein between their view. As this particular new screen is much bigger, so maybe this problem could increase.

New AC vents' design -

Though the placement for the vents is very similar to the one in the Brezza, Suzuki has still tried a bit to make them look different. The AC vents in the 2024 Suzuki Swift sit just below the Infotainment screen. They are similar to the ones in the Brezza, as said, but they have got a slight change in their design, as Suzuki has added a small element to the left of the AC vents.

Despite these features, almost everything is the same, as we have seen in various Maruti Suzuki cars like - 

• Automated Climate Control

• 4-inch Digital Display in the Instrument Cluster

• Steering mounted Controls

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift's Powertrains

The 2024 Suzuki Swift was introduced with a Hybrid Powertrain at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. But, the Hybrid Powertain’s India debut is very critical, or let’s just say it is a big no! Why? You ask.

Basically, Hybrid Powertrains are one of the most complicated powertrains, and as they have complex mechanisms, they are usually priced higher than their only Petrol powertrains, comparatively. So, even if Suzuki decides to bring the Hybrid Swift to India, it will not make sense, as the reason for people buying Swift in big numbers would change.

A Hybrid engine with no chance of debuting in India -

Still, here are some insights about the Hybrid Powertrain of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift - 

1.4 L  K14B  Petrol Engine paired to a 48V Strong Hybrid Battery. No Power Figure details have been given out, but it is revealed that it produces 235 Nm of Torque at 2000 rpm.

So, this is an engine that has literally no chance of coming to India; let us discuss the one that has the most chances of coming to India with the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift.

The existing Petrol engine -

It is very straightforward that the 2024 Swift will be definite in continuing the existing Petrol engine, which is -

1.2 L  Dual Jet  K-series  Petrol engine , which produces a total of 90 PS and 112 Nm of Torque .

A new Hybrid engine which has a slight chance of coming to India -

There have been rumors in the industry that Suzuki is behind bringing in a new Petrol Hybrid engine. This particular engine is said to be having three cylinders, and this will be a completely new unit. More details -

1.2 L  Z12E  Strong Hybrid  Petrol engine. The details about this particular engine, too, are undercover, but we have heavy assumptions that this engine would be capable of generating 45 kmpl of mileage.

This particular Hybrid engine is said to be having some noticeable chances of coming to India. So, if, in case, this particular hybrid engine makes its way to the Indian shores, then most probably, it will be priced at a higher side, comparatively.
