First showcased in the Indian Auto Expo of 2022, Tata Avinya will be Tata Motors’ most premium offering once it gets launched. The Avinya is a pure Electric vehicle showcased as a concept in the 2022 Auto Expo. It will host a slew of first-hand features, Technology, etc. So, without wasting a single second, let us get into the Tata Avinya India Launch Date and Full Details.
Yes, the main talking point of the town is this: the EMA or Electric Mobility Architecture platform, which will be used for JLR’s future high-end EVs and will also be used in the Avinya. It will give quite a few advantages to Avinya, as the platform itself will be a highly developed unit. Well, how did this happen, you ask?
Basically, TPEM, or Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, joined hands with the JLR in order to collaborate for the manufacturing of either of their EVs. This agreement mostly focused on JLR’s acceptance of TPEM using their EMA platform for the third generation of TPEM vehicles. In fact, JLR will also help TPEM build the Avinya initially in order to make things work easy and understandable on Tata’s side.
So, what will this EMA bring? EMA will bring a host of premium features and technology to Tata’s end. Some of the most expected ones are Level 2 ADAS, etc. Not only this, but it is highly anticipated that the R&D cost for developing Avinya will almost cut by 70%, as JLR will contribute its expertise initially.
About the manufacturing - First, JLR will roll out its EVs that will be built on the EMA from their UK plant, and thereafter, Tata Motors will have the EMA platform shipped to India and will also have some changes made to it in order to localize it, and thereafter, start the manufacturing of Avinya in-house.
Tata Avinya’s design will be unlike any other Tata vehicle. It will be very futuristic and trendy. It will, though, have a lot of inspiration taken from other Tata cars.
The front design of the Tata Avinya, as said, will be very futuristic. It will consist of some design elements that we have not yet seen in any Tata cars or, in fact, in any other Indian-born EV. To talk in detail about the design -
New Tata Logo - 20205 Tata Avinya launch will also bring in the new Tata Motors logo, which will be an integrated unit in the DRLs itself.
Closed Front Grille - Tata Avinya, being an EV, will have a completely closed grille. As shown in the concept, we can make some presumptions. Tata Avinya might get a glossy-finished grille, which will also pack some integrated lighting for premium visual appeal. This grille, as shown in the concept, might be placed in a slanting position, where it might slant towards the inside while going downwards.
Lower Bumper - Tata Avinya’s concept shows us a probable design element for its production-ready model. We can see a design treatment in the lower bumper, which is very similar to the new Tata logo above, it is just that this element has been inverted and upsized. As seen in the concept, it might get a metallic finish, which will surely bring some luxurious touch to the overall design of the vehicle.
Slim LED Headlamps - We can see at both ends of the DRLs that there have been placed two slim Headlamps, obviously a concept. This might indicate that the Avinya will get a different yet extraordinary headlamp design, which we have not seen in any Tata car yet. They might pack some kind of technology, which Tata Motors might introduce for better headlamp performance.
Small Bonnet - As this is a concept, designers have made a lot of their delusions run around Avinya’s design. One of which can be seen in the bonnet. It is simple, smooth, and slopping, but it is too small. This probably might not be the case in the production-ready avatar, as it would have its motor and wheel axles placed below, which usually eat up quite a lot of space. This presumption also has a good effect, as the bonnet might get lengthier for its production-ready avatar, thereafter, we might also get some amount of storage space as a frunk.
The side profile of the Tata Avinya evis futuristic and unique, too. The overall design of the vehicle from the side surely indicates a bit towards their ongoing Hatchback - Tata Altroz. Well, there are quite a few substantial changes, too.
22-inch Alloy wheels - Tata Avinya’s concept version showcased a set of 22-inch Alloy wheels, which looked massive with respect to the overall size of the vehicle. However, it is certain that the production-ready version will not get any alloy wheels up to the size of 22 inches, rather, to suit real-world conditions, it might get equipped with 19-inch Alloy wheels. Still, with the available ally wheels on the concept, we can make out one thing: They will be heavily engineered in order for them to be aerodynamically efficient. Most probably, they might get a closed design so that there will not be any kind of air drag while on the move.
Plush Door Handles - Avinya’s concept had no door handles over its body, and as it will be the most premium Tata car to ever be born, it will probably get a set of plush door handles. They might also make Avinya the first Tata car to have that feature.
Glass Roof - Well, one thing from the concept has the most amount of chance to make up till production: a Glass roof. As showcased in the concept, a complete glass roof is very probable to be in Avinya’s production avatar. In fact, as it will be built on the JLR’s EMA platform, then a feature like a glass roof is 90 per cent in Avinya’s bag.
The rear profile of the Tata Avinya is very striking and sharp in terms of its design. It indicates a probable design change that Tata might take from Avinya’s launch, even though Tata Motors has already taken a different approach toward the design of its cars, it is possible that one more revolution might take place. Anyways, more about the rear design of the vehicle -
Connected Tail lamps - Connected Tail lamps are going to be on the production-ready version of the Avinya for sure, as it is in the trend, and Tata Motors has already started following it. However, with the Avinya, the Tail lamp design might be a lot different, as in the concept, we saw a tail lamp that was extruding the primary body line of the vehicle.
Rest of the design - The rest of the design is very minimal yet stylish. It might at times appear to be seated low, as this is a concept, and a lot of unnecessary or out-of-the-world things can be seen on this, so obviously, till it reaches its production avatar, we will get to see some substantial changes made according to cater the real world conditions.
The interiors of the Avinya concept, which were shown, are obviously way apart from being the actual interior of any car. So, we would just imagine and presume what could be done and what we could get with the help of given components.
New Two-spoke Steering wheel - We have already seen the steering wheels for Tata cars, like in the Nexon, and also the four-spoke ones in the Harrier and Safari. But the Avinya will get a new unit of the two-spoke steering wheel; it will rather be a mixture of the ones we get in the Harrier / Safari and Nexon. Basically, the two spokes that we will get in Avinya’s steering wheel will be the ones that are placed below the screen in the Harrier / Safari’s steering wheel. So, technically, Avinya’s steering wheel will have a curved spoke in the lower part of it, and the screen will be attached to that spoke, which, ultimately, will look as if it is floating. Overall, the steering wheel that Avinya will get equipped with could be the third of a kind in Tata Motors’ lineup.
New Infotainment Screen - The infotainment screen will also be a new unit on the Avinya. It will be bigger, will have more features and will be different from the ones which we are seeing in other Tata cars. It will get an extremely high-quality screen to justify its usage and the price at which the screen is available. Advanced features like a 360-degree Camera, Arcade.ev app, V2V, V2L, etc., will be provided as standard, and in fact, we are expecting some new innovative features to also come with the Avinya.
Spacious Interiors - Avinya will have a wheelbase measuring up to 3.5 meters, so ultimately, the space inside will be a lot better and roomy. Leg room, Knee room, Thigh support, etc., are all expected to be a lot in terms of space. About the headroom, the showcased concept seems to have a low height, but there will still be no issue with it. Till Avinya gets into its production avatar, it will have a lot of changes made to itself, and aspects like headroom will be one of them.
While Tata Motors was introducing Avinya at the 2022 Auto Expo, they mentioned one key thing or a fact about the Avinya: it will be able to drive up to 500 km on one single charge. So, as we are unaware of any bit of details about the battery pack the Avinya might have, we could still presume these factors on the statement made by Tata Motors above.
With respect to what Tata Motors said, Avinya will most likely have a 60 kWh Battery Pack, which will have a host of features that were recently introduced in the Nexon.ev’s launch, like V2V, V2L, etc.
Secondly, Tata Motors also claimed one more interesting detail about the charging of Avinya’s battery pack during the concept’s introduction: Avinya will be able to get charged by an Ultra Fast Charger , which is said to be able to charge the Avinya up to 90 per cent , within 30 minutes .
Tata Avinya was introduced last year, 2022, so we expect it will hit Indian roads by the end of 2025. As the claims that have been made by the brand, they need a substantial time period to get developed.
Tata Avinya will be Tata Motors’ most premium vehicle ever to be produced. It will have a set of features which we have just seen in some high-end cars in India till now, so this fact also brings us to the conclusion that the Avinya will priced a lot higher compared to other Tata cars. We expect the price to start from ₹40 lakhs and go up to ₹45 lakhs.
Tata Avinya will also be Tata Motors’ first ever Passenger car, which will be exported to other international markets, and may also be the first Indian Electric car, as well. This will help Tata Motors to improve themselves, as they will explore the potential and standards of markets like Europe, America, etc.
