2024’s one of the most anticipated cars, Tata Curvv, has finally been unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. Tata Curvv is a Coupe SUV, which will find its place in the Midsize SUV segment, currently ruled by the Hyundai Creta. We have been getting a lot of spy shots of this particular vehicle for the past year. With the help of all the spy shots, we did get a very strong assumption of what the Curvv would actually look like. But, as the brand itself has revealed the entire exterior design of the Curvv, let us find some extra missed points. So, getting into today’s topic of 2024 Tata Curvv officially unveiled with a Panoramic Sunroof.
Earlier, everyone complained that the Curvv looks more like the 2023 Nexon, as the front design has been derived from it. But, it seems that these voices reached till Tata Motors’ Design Studio, and they have made some subtle changes to make it look different.
Up front, we get a similar DRL like the 2023 Nexon, which runs from one end to the other of the front fascia. This DRL also works as the indicator of the vehicle, and these are sequential ones. Below the DRLs, we can see a Piano Black grille design with chrome inserts. In between these chrome inserts, we can also see a few air dams.
Moving downwards, We can see the signature Headlamp design of Tata Motors. This design is quite similar to the one in the 2023 Harrier, as the triangle shape goes straight down and touches the bottom line. This gives the front end more of a sporty look and enhances the overall presence of the Curvv. After that, we have the main Air dams placed between the Headlamps. This Air dam can also be seen holding the front unit of the 360-degree camera system. Below this, we can again, see a Piano Black unit. This has been designed to look like a grille, but actually, it is not a grille. This unit will hold the Front Parking Sensors and the ADAS Radar. We can also see the cover for the Towing hook placed in it.
On the sides, the main attraction has to be the alloy wheels. These are 18’ alloys, which have a very striking design given to them. They do suit the overall look and coolness of the Curvv. But, with respect to whatever spy shots we have received till now, it seems that the Curvv might have a different alloy wheel or maybe have one more option with a different design.
Over the wheels, we can see substantially large wheel arches that run throughout the edge of the side body. These arches do give the SUV that rugged sports SUV look. The wheel claddings are not that big compared to the wheel arches. They are minimal, yet they maintain the balance in the design language. After that, we can the Plush Door handles. These handles will pop out once the vehicle is unlocked. The Driver-side door handle also gets a request sensor for greater convenience. The ORVMs on offer are identical to the ones present in the 2023 Nexon. These ORVMs will also have the side units of the 360-degree camera system.
At last, on top, we can see the sloping roof-line of the vehicle. This coupe design, surely, gives a good and dope look to the Curvv. And as this is about to be the first car in this segment to have this design language, it is sure that it will sell like hot samosas.
Moving to the backside, first, we have minimal spoilers placed right on top of the rear view glass. The rear view glass happens to be a part of the tailgate. This also tells us that the Curvv, being a Coupe, will have a massive boot opening, ultimately, increasing the convenience of loading luggage into it. Next, we have the long Tail lamp, which connects both ends of the backside. This Tail lamp also shelters the indicators underneath on both ends of itself. The reverse light has been placed right above the rear bumper. We also get ‘Curvv’ written on the back side in the signature font used by Tata Motors in all their vehicles.
Under the hood, the Tata Curvv will get a total of two engine options, one of them happens to be a new unit, and the other one is derived from the 2023 Nexon. The new one is the 1.2 L T-GDI Petrol Engine, and the other is the 1.5 L Turbo Diesel Engine from the Nexon. These two engines will produce 125 hp / 225 Nm of Torque, and 115 hp / 260 Nm of Torque, respectively.
The price of the Curvv is something that Tata Motors has to get right, as the Curvv has already achieved enough attention from the market. We expect the price of the Tata Curvv to start from ₹11.5 lacs to ₹18 lacs. Tata Curvv will be launched by June 2024, after its EV version.
