A much-awaited Toyota Innova HyCross rival has been unveiled in India with all of its details revealed by the brand already. We are speaking of the 2025 Kia Carnival Limousine. The Kia Carnival Limousine is, basically, the next generation of the existing Kia Carnival that has been launched as the Limousine version of the same with a whole lot of changes. This Carnival was launched in international markets almost a year ago. The prices for the Carnival Limousine have not been revealed yet by Kia though one can book it for a token amount of ₹2 lakhs.
Kia Carnival sort of carries the same shape as the previous gen Carnival but, has become more sharper and boxier from the edges, overall a better-looking design. The 2025 Carnival has been unveiled with only two color options - Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl with Tuscon and Umber 2 Tone colors (Dual Tone Interiors). It also gets a new set of Diamond cut alloy wheels of 18 inches under the Tyre profile of 235/60.
The front profile of the Carnival has been revised with the same Tiger Nose Grille but, adding new Chrome elements and long inverted L-shaped DRLs. It also gets a new headlamp unit with vertically placed LED beams. Lower down, we can see the radar for ADAS and six Parking sensors.
On the Side, the Carnival, still, gets the sliding door with a one-touch electronic operating function. We can also see a premium inclusion of the Brush-Aluminium finished element behind the C-Pillar. It also gets roof rails with Two sunroofs.
At the back, we get the signature Tail light design of Kia with the same inverted L shape. The Tail light uses complete LEDs with sequential Turn indicators. The Shark fin antenna has been placed on the top. Overall, the design of the rear profile is the most basic and simple than the rest of the body.
The Carnival rivals the Toyota Innova HyCross and compared to the Japanese MPV, the Carnival is bigger in all terms except the height. With a length of 5.1 meters a width of 1.9 meters, and a height of 1.7 meters, the carnival appears to be bigger. Moreover, the wheelbase of the Carnival is measured more than 3 meters with a Fuel tank capacity of 72 liters.
The Carnival compared to its rival (HyCross) gets way better interiors filled with opulence and luxury. The Carnival gets only one seating option - 7 seater, which is a format of 2+2+3. The second row gets Captain seats with Heating and Cooling ventilation functions and added leg support for better comfort. It also gets Two individual sunroofs. The Third row gets a bench seat with three occupants of space. It gets three two cup holders with more storage on both sides, AC vents on both sides, and 3-pointer seat belts for all three passengers. All of the Headrests are adjustable with more cushion for the second-row headrests.
The Technological front is updated as well with the addition of an 11-inch Heads up display with a navigation function, a 12.3-inch Infotainment screen with new software, a Three-zone Climate control system, Voice assistant features, Haptic & two knob controls with a display for AC and Media system, a 4-spoke steering wheel with a lot of buttons for media and ADAS, a 12.3-inch Instrument Cluster, a dedicated Charging hub with different ports and a Wireless Charger below the AC unit, Ambient lighting all across the cabin, all Four power windows with individual door lock & unlock on all doors, Auto-dimming IRVM, Electronically adjustable & Auto folding ORVMs, a 360-degree surround Camera view, 12-speaker Bose sound system, Smart powered Tailgate with gesture control, etc.
These were some key technological additions to the cabin, and over these, the carnival also gets Level-2 ADAS features - Emergency Autonomous Braking, Blind spot detection, Lane-keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Cross Traffic Collision warning, etc. More on a safety standpoint, the Carnival gets 8 Airbags as standard with ABS, ESP, etc.
The Carnival revives its old powertrain of a 2.2 L Diesel engine producing 190 hp and 440 Nm torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed AT and powers only the front Two wheels.
The launch of the Carnival is expected to happen in the coming months most probably before the upcoming festive season. It could be priced at ₹40-45 lakhs.
