Maruti Suzuki introduced their leading Indian SUV model, the Grand Vitara, to the market in September 2022. The model captured the highest-selling mid-size SUV spot in the country soon after its launch. Maruti Suzuki plans to implement a fresh design update for its vehicle, which has been approaching three years since production.
Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce a contemporary makeover of the vehicle since it will reach its three-year anniversary mark. This is called a “facelift.”
A facelift is when a car gets some changes to make it look and feel newer without being a totally new model. The Grand Vitara is now getting this mid-life update to keep up with the competition.
Let us take a look at all the top things you should know about the 2025 Grand Vitara facelift!
New Look on the Outside
The upcoming 2025 Grand Vitara facelift will have a brand-new design. This means it will look different and more modern than the current version. Maruti has not officially shown the facelifted model yet, but the 7-seater version has been spotted during testing on roads. This gives us a good idea of what to expect.
Front Side Changes
The front part of the Grand Vitara will get a new face. It will still have split LED headlights, but the shape and style may be updated. This change will make the SUV look more attractive and bold.
Side Profile
On the sides, the biggest update will be the wheels. The new Grand Vitara may come with stylish 17-inch alloy wheels. These will add a sportier and premium look to the SUV.
Rear Design
The back of the SUV will also be changed significantly. The new Grand Vitara is expected to have a connected tail light. This means the tail lights on both sides will be joined with a light bar, just like what we see on the Kia EV6. This makes the car look modern and high-tech.
Inside the Grand Vitara, a fresh makeover is also expected. Though it is a facelift (not a full redesign), Maruti is likely to improve several things inside the cabin.
Dashboard and Design
The dashboard may get a new layout with a better look. The plastic materials could be improved to feel softer and look nicer. In the current model, many people complained that the plastic didn’t feel very premium. Maruti may fix that in the facelift.
New Features
The current Grand Vitara already has many good features. But with the facelift, Maruti might add even more:
Even though the looks and features will change, the engine options in the 2025 Grand Vitara will stay the same. That is not a bad thing because the current engines are already strong and efficient.
Strong Hybrid Engine
This is the main engine that many buyers like. It is a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It also has an electric motor, which helps save fuel. It makes 115.56 PS of power and 141 Nm of torque. This engine comes with an e-CVT (automatic) gearbox.
This version is good for people who want better mileage and smoother driving.
Mild Hybrid Engine
The second engine is the 1.5-liter K15C petrol engine. It makes 103.06 PS of power and 136.8 Nm of torque. It comes in two versions:
A 5-speed manual (which also has an option for AWD)
A 6-speed automatic
This version is for people who want a regular petrol SUV with good performance.
The upcoming Grand Vitara seven-seat model from Maruti Suzuki intends to target space against market competitors such as Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. The new 7-seater version requires a longer wheelbase, which became visible through spy images showing a modified front design together with updated rear elements and new alloy wheel choices.
Marelli Suzuki likely plans to offer the same powertrain options as the five-seater Grand Vitara while making both safety and traction system options available with ADAS features and AWD capability. The upcoming Kharkhoda manufacturing plant in Haryana will manufacture the 7-seater Grand Vitara version as Maruti Suzuki plans its second half of 2025 launch.
The company Maruti Suzuki has yet to disclose any official information regarding the launch timelines for the upcoming Grand Vitara facelift as well as its seven-seat model. Industry testing indicates that the upcoming 7-seater model will hit the market in June 2025, beginning at ₹14 lakh. The new generation 5-seater Grand Vitara plans to come to market first in the early part of 2025, followed by the launch of its 7-seater model later in the same year.
After its release, the facelifted Grand Vitara and 7-seater version will participate in the mid-size SUV market against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos alongside MG Astor and Honda Elevate and Tata Curvv and Volkswagen Taigun Skoda Kushaq, Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
Fans of the popular SUV will find excitement when the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift becomes available. Through its combination of redesigned styling and improved features with trusted engine technology, the mid-size SUV market will strongly welcome this model. Upcoming additions to the Grand Vitara family through its seven-seat model will make it an even larger and more expansive lineup.
