It is now almost confirmed that Kia is set to launch its luxurious MPV in India, the Kia Carnival. The Carnival has already been discontinued in India but, the last generation of the Carnival available in India was its Third generation, and currently, worldwide Fourth generation is up for sale. Almost 4 years and Kia is yet to update its luxurious MPV, and now, it seems it is confirmed that the Indian market is set to receive the newest generation of the Carnival, as it was spotted without any camouflage being tested on the Indian roads. So, let us discuss the 2025 Kia Carnival’s India launch date, and see what features it offers over the Innova HyCross.
The Third generation of the Kia Carnival was the first one to step into the Indian Automotive market. It kind of ruled its segment till it was discontinued back in 2023. The Carnival was launched by the brand to offer a luxurious experience of over 30 lakh rupees, as this segment did not have any.
The Carnival was offered in various seating configurations - 7 seater, 8 seater, and 9 seater. This made this Kia MPV grab attention, as it was carrying a dose of practicality and features with it. It used to offer a 2.2 L Diesel engine, which produced 197 hp and 440 Nm Torque. The Carnival in its time was the first choice for all, finding luxury on a budget.
Eventually, as time passed, Kia did not really update the carnival, as the international spec was already updated with a new generation. This made the Carnival age faster and become irrelevant. Ultimately, it affected the sales of this Kia MPV, and thereafter, it was discontinued.
The 2025 Kia Carnival is a looker, as the design team has brought in all the new-age Kia design attributes in the new Carnival. It has become more sharper, elegant, and luxurious from the outside compared to before.
The Front of the Carnival packs a grille design filled with small silver bars, they make the front look opulent. The Grille still, gets Kia’s signature Tiger Nose design. Lower down there happens to be functional air dams with a Radar for ADAS. It also houses Fog lamps at both ends. The width of the Carnival measures 2.3 meters.
The Headlamp unit of the Carnival gets new inverted ‘L’ shaped DRLs, which also function as the Indicators. The primary headlamp consists of four LED beams stacked vertically. On the front, the Carnival also gets a total of 6 Parking sensors.
On the Side, the Carnival measures up to 5.1 meters in length and the wheelbase measures over 3 meters. The height of the Carnival ranges from 1.8 meters.
The wheels of the 2025 Carnival are 19’. The design varies on the model, as the one spotted on the Indian roads has a diamond-cut design on it. Wheel claddings over the wheels are absent, though, between the wheels, Kia has added claddings for soft body protection. The wheel arches are present but, have been kept minimal for design purposes.
The 2025 Carnival gets an electronic sliding door for its second row. On the C pillar, the 2025 Carnival also gets a shiny metal treatment for elegant design language. The third-row glass does not open but, it is substantial for avoiding claustrophobia inside.
The Rear of the 2025 Carnival gets a Seltos-inspired connected Tail light design. Lower down the rear bumper gets a silverish treatment for better looks. On the rear as well, the 2025 Carnival gets 6 Parking sensors. It also gets a Shark fin Antenna, with two individual sunroofs on the roof.
The 2025 Carnival gets a complete re-designed interior with a premium-looking dashboard. This time, the dashboard gets a different contrast of colors, where we can see the top of the dashboard, and the Steering wheel has a Blue color shade. On the other hand, the lower portion gets a simple beige treatment. All over the dashboard, we get soft touchpoints with Ambient lighting mounted in line with the AC vents.
The Infotainment screen also sees a new unit of 12.3’. This screen is updated with new Kia software including tones of connected car features, like remote car starting, remote AC temperature adjustment, etc. This screen also packs wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, with Kia’s built-in navigation system, as well.
The Instrument Cluster, too, measures 12.3’ in size. This Instrument cluster is specifically for the top variants, otherwise, the lower variants come equipped with a 4’ TFT screen. This 12.3’ screen is crisp and sharp in its looks.
The 2025 Carinval gets a rearview monitor in its IRVM. It also gets a touch-sensitive panel for the Climate control system with two knobs, which can be used for multiple purposes. It gets a total of three power sockets on the dashboard.
The Center console looks premium with a glossy surface. The 2025 Carnival gets a rotary knob for Drive selection. An Electronic Parking brake with Auto Hold has also been placed behind it. Two cup holders have also been included.
The Seating capacity of the 2025 Kia Carnival has been lowered up to 8 Passengers, further focusing more on comfort and luxury. There are plenty of premium amenities inside the cabin for the passengers, like reclining second-row Captain seats, full electric adjust for almost all the seats, two individual sunroofs, etc.
The 2025 Carnival will be powered with the same 2.2 L Diesel engine, producing 197 hp and 440 Nm Torque. This engine will be mated with an Automatic transmission.
The 2025 Kia Carnival will be launched soon in India having been spied undisguised on the Indian roads. We expect by the end of 2024, we could see the 2025 Carnival being sold in India.
The Price of the 2025 Kia Carnival will be increased significantly, as the MPV has been substantially upgraded, and will most probably be brought to India via the CKD route. We expect the price to start from ₹35 lakhs.
