To some extent, the Defender can be referred to as the Big Daddy of SUVs but, even today, people’s choice stays with the old-classic G Wagen. The G Wagen is almost a 50-year-old SUV. The craze and preference the G Wagen still gets is unmatchable. With some rugged off-road capabilities and crazy Mercedes luxury and technology, the G Wagen shines from almost all sides. The Celebs, Leaders, Business Tycoons, etc, all like to have this as their SUV because the G Wagen carries a different kind of status with itself. In fact, an SUV being so expensive, and on the premium side, has still managed to sell more than 5,00,000 units since its first launch worldwide. Well, for the year 2024, Mercedes has launched a facelift of the G Wagen, with some mechanical updates and design changes. 

2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift Exterior 

The 2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift’s design remains the same but, it still has got some minor changes. It still is the pinnacle of a Boxy design on any car in the world. On the front, it gets a revised grille design having two slats placed horizontally, with a big Mercedes logo in between. The bumper stands high, as it gets a decent 31 degrees of approach angle. The Air dams placed below have a thin net design, and the SUV also has 6 Front Parking sensors. The Headlamps are the same, as they have been placed high up. They have a big circular design, with DRLs covering the circumference. A main LED projector beam has been placed as the primary light. 

On the side, the G Wagen gets a set of 20’ alloy wheels, they get a completely black look. In fact, they are not the only ones, Mercedes provides numerous more options. The wheel claddings are present but, they have been painted in the respective body color. There are no wheel arches, as the entire design is too boxy. We can also see the three same squarish windows. In between, through the door handles, runs a silverish line to provide that classic vibe on the SUV.

At the rear, we, again, get the identical design compared to the pre-facelift G Wagen. The spare wheel is placed on the tailgate, with a Mercedes logo upon it. The Tail lights are slim and have been placed lower down on the body. On the rear bumper, we can see 6 Rear Parking sensors, too. 

2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift Interiors

The G Wagen has not got much of a design update in the cabin but, it has got the new MBUX Infotainment system from the new 2025 Mercedes Benz GLS’ facelift model. The size of the Infotainment system is 12.3’ and is of the Instrument Cluster. The screens are filled with a lot of Mercedes’ pure luxurious and advanced technology. It makes sure that the G Wagen is way ahead of its competitors in these terms. It also gets a Three-zone Climate control system. 

Below the Infotainment screen, there have been placed the amazingly designed AC vents. They have a turbine-like design given to them. After that, we can also see a lot of buttons for various quick functions on the SUV. A classical clock has also been added by the brand for an opulent look. The center console is clean in terms of its looks, as it gets the Mercedes’ haptic cursor with a rotary dial to conveniently use the Infotainment screen. The Dashboard also gets a few wood treatments upon it. The Drive selector stick has been placed behind the steering wheel as a lever. The steering wheel, on the other hand, gets a different design, too. It looks premium with a metallic finish for the buttons. 

The seats of the G Wagen can be configured according to your taste. It has various color options for the leather used on the seats. All the seats, obviously, have their headrests adjustable. The lock buttons on the doors have been given the traditional design in order to embrace its ruggedness. 

2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift Powertrain Options

The G Wagen gets quite a few engines under its hood. For the lower variants, it gets a 3.0 L 6 Cylinder Diesel, which is mated to a 48V Integrated Starter generator. It produces 357 hp and a massive 750 Nm of Torque. 

There is one more variant, which comes with a 3.0 L 6 Cylinder Petrol Engine, which produces 436 hp. 

It also gets an AMG variant, which gets a crazy 4.0 L Bi-Turbo V8 Petrol Engine producing 577 hp and 850 Nm of Torque. 

The new G Wagen also gets an advanced suspension system that improves the on-road and off-road capabilities of the SUV to a greater extent. 

2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift India Launch and Pricing Details

The 2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen will most probably be launched in India by the end of 2024. Mercedes, as a brand is decently active, and has been updating all its SUVs in the country from time to 

time. 

The Price of the new 2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagen Facelift will be increased. We expect it to start from ₹1.8 Cr.
