Since its launch in 2024, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has been a success. It fulfilled the most desired practicality flaw of the Thar 3-door and introduced many new, updated, and premium features to the Thar brand. However, nowadays, Mahindra is on a rampage of launching extremely aspirational and amazing vehicles, like the BE 6, XEV 9E, Thar Roxx, etc. So, Mahindra will also soon launch the updated 2025 Thar 3-door Facelift with new premium features and price, which is what we are going to talk about today -
2025 Thar 3-door Facelift Updates
Mahindra has been overloading its new-age vehicles with extraordinary features, some of which have happened to be first-in-segment, too. The 2025 Thar is highly expected to be given the same treatment as well but, with also retaining its heritage and purpose.
As we know, the Thar Roxx was launched as a derivative of the Thar 3-door with a lot more premium-ness and urban-friendly characteristics. It was simply done in order to fulfil the need/want of consumers regarding Thar lacking practicality for daily family usage. And it happened to work pretty well, as the Thar Roxx’s more practical nature with the 5 doors and Comfortable second row of seats was liked by everyone.
On the other hand, the 2025 Thar will be curated more towards the purpose of off-roading and robustness, as it is today. This tells us it will retain - Higher Ground Clearance and Off-road-focused elements. The 2025 Thar 3-door though will pick some important and much-wanted modern-day features from the Roxx -
A 10.25’ Infotainment Screen
2025 Thar facelift will be launched with a new 10.25’ Infotainment screen from the Roxx and the XUV 3XO, which will replace its current dated 7’ screen. This new 10.25’ unit will be feature-loaded with basic amenities, like Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, etc. It will also be calibrated with various off-road oriented features to cater for the off-road needs of the Thar.
A 360-degree Camera
Mahindra is most likely to offer a 360-degree Camera in the 2025 Thar as well. The Roxx was the first one to get it in the Thar brand, and it is very probable for the 3-door to get it, too. This feature will also unlock the Blind View monitoring feature for the 2025 Thar.
A 10.25’ Instrument Cluster
The 2025 Thar will bring in an update for the Instrument Cluster as well. It will use the same unit from other Mahindra SUVs - 10.25’ Instrument Cluster. This Cluster will be one of the most advanced features of the 2025 Thar 3-door. It will pack various features, like Map Display, Trip Meters, DTE (Distance To Empty), Average Fuel Economy, Blind Spot Monitoring, etc.
A Regular Sunroof (Tentative)
Thar Roxx has been offered a Panoramic sunroof, as it has a standard hard-top roof, unlike the Thar. We believe that to boost the overall sales of the 3-door Thar, Mahindra would bring in a Regular Sunroof on the Hard-Top models of the 2025 Thar 3-door. Being a very valuable asset (sunroof) for the carmakers in India, Mahindra would not want to miss it.
Design Changes
The 2025 Thar will undergo some severe design changes on the front fascia, which will make it look more distinctive than the Jeep Wrangler. These design changes will be borrowed from the Thar Roxx - the Grille design is expected to be similar in both SUVs.
LED Headlamps
The Thar 3-door packs Halogen Headlamps, whereas the newcomer - The Roxx, offers LEDs in the top variants. Most probably, Thar 3-door will be given the same LED Headlamps from the Roxx.
2025 Thar 3-door Dimensions
Currently, the Thar 3-door lies under 4 meters, and so it will in its Facelifted model. We strongly believe that Mahindra would not change any dimensions of the Thar 3-door.

Height - 1844 - 1855 mm (depending on the variant)
Wheelbase - 2450 mm
Ground Clearance - 226 mm
2025 Thar 3-door Engine Options
The 2025 Thar 3-door will see no changes under the hood. It will be offered with the same range of engines - Petrol and Diesel with both 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) and RWD (Rear Wheel Drive).
The 4WD will be mated with both Petrol and Diesel engines, whereas RWD will be mated with only Diesel.
The RWD Diesel engine - It is a 1.5 L Turbo Diesel engine that produces 116 hp and 300 Nm torque. It is only available with a 6-speed Manual Transmission.
The 4WD Diesel engine - It is a 2.2 L Turbo Diesel engine that produces 130 hp and 300 Nm torque. It is available with a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed Torque Converter Transmission.
The 4WD Petrol engine - It is a 2.0 L Turbo Petrol engine that produces 150 hp and 300 Nm torque. It is available with a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed Torque Converter Transmission.
2025 Thar 3-door Price and Launch date
The 2025 Thar 3-door will see a significant price increase, especially in the higher variants. The feature list it would pack will make it quite expensive than the current model. We expect the prices to start from ₹12 lakh and go up to ₹18.3 lakh.
