India is a cost-effective market, which is why, the industry tries to find the value quotient in every newcomer on the field. More the Value, more the Sales, this is the simplest rule, if anyone wants to enter the Indian Automotive Market. With respect to this, an Indian Car brand launched an SUV, which promises this value aspect. We are speaking of Mahindra and its recently launched Bolero Neo Plus. The Bolero Neo is a renamed successor of the old TUV 3OO. When it was launched back in 2021, we all knew that a 9-seater variant of this SUV was in the pipeline, as even the TUV 3OO had one. So, here we have today, the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, a 9-seater SUV on a budget. Let us study more about this SUV.
The Bolero Neo Plus is based on the Bolero Neo, it has just got a longer length and room for two more seats. The Dimensions of the Bolero Neo Plus have also seen a change, as it gets bigger in size compared to its sibling -
The Bolero Neo Plus sits on the same Ladder Frame chassis as the Bolero Neo. This tells us that the SUV gets Rear Wheel Drive as standard, which helps the SUV in excelling any sort of mild off-road. It also gets MLD, which is an abbreviation for Mechanical Locking Differential. It helps the power transfer on the rear wheels to distribute appropriately if stuck anywhere.
The safety tests of the Bolero Neo have not been conducted till now. So, we are not sure how safe the Neo Plus would be. But, with the reputation of new-age Mahindra SUVs, we believe the Bolero Neo Plus’ safety ratings would be above par. The Body structure over the chassis also uses quite a few high-strength steel to maintain a firm body structure.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus gets the same exterior, as we see on the Bolero Neo. It has a rectangular grille on the top, over which there are placed 6 chrome slats, and in between them, there is the Mahindra logo. Below that we see a body colored panel separating the main Air dam. The Air dam gets a mesh treatment for its grille. The Headlamps are also the same, as they get one big Halogen reflector and indicators on the side. Fog lamps have also been placed lower down for better illumination in the nighttime.
On the Side, we get the same design with a new design for the alloy wheels. They now get slightly tilted dual spokes for their design. The size of the wheels is still 215 / 70 / R16. There is no cladding over the wheels, but it does get decent wheel arches. The black plastic still runs through the door handles in order to give that Bolero look to the Neo Plus. We can see that the overhang of the SUV has been increased to accommodate two extra seats. It also gets a doorstep on the sides for easier access to the SUV. The Bolero Neo Plus gets a basic Antenna on top.
The Rear profile of the Neo Plus is again identical to the Bolero Neo. It has its Spare wheel placed on the Tailgate. The Tailgate of the Bolero Neo Plus opens sideways for better access, as it gets parallely placed seats.
The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus gets the exact same interiors as the Bolero Neo. It gets a small 7’ Infotainment screen placed inside the vertically standing Dashboard. This screen holds the older version of software used by Mahindra, it gives a decent amount of information, with some off-road data, too. The Neo Plus also gets a small 4’ Instrument Cluster for digital display of some useful information like the Gear indicator, Fuel Guage, etc. This screen is placed in between the Speed dial and the Tachometer.
The Dashboard makes use of complete plastic material. It has been given a Baige and a Black color treatment. The Climate Control system is manually operated. There has also been placed a 12V Cigarette lighter, and a USB-A Port, with an AUX port, too. The Gear Lever has been placed on the Center Console.
As we can see it gets two conventionally placed rows of seats, and the last row is a parallelly placed one. In the Bolero Neo, too, we get such seats but, they could just accommodate two passengers, on the other hand, the ones in the Bolero Neo Plus can accommodate Four passengers. They can also be folded if you are willing to make use of the available Boot space.
