About the Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz was launched back in Januray 2020. Tata Altroz is Tata Motors’ successor for their hugely popular Indica. The day it was launched, from that day people really appreciated what Tata Motors has pulled off in terms of its design. So that so, Tata Motors marketed it the Gold Standard of Hatchbacks.

In fact, the Altroz actually kick started its career with a good enough grip over the customers. As said, they were fond of the design of the Altroz, as no other Hatchback at that time had such an attractive and desirable design language.

It went more upwards in terms of likings, as the Altroz was announced as the Safest Hatchback in India. Which, it till date is, as no other Hatch has even reached close to its safety ratings. Well, the VW Polo was the one which managed to reach very close in terms of Safety, but unfortunately, it got discontinued. 

Today, the Tata Altroz isn’t going as great as it was earlier. This is a result due to many reasons like, the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the launch of the Tata Tiago.ev, Hyundai i20 N Line, etc. Though Tata Altroz do deserve a much better position in the market, for which the Altroz Racer Edition is gearing up.

About the Tata Altroz Racer Edition

Unlike the Hyundai i20’s sportier version, the i20 N Line, which by the way, is sportier only in terms of cosmetics, the Tata Altroz proves to be a real sporty Hatchback. It packs a numerous amount of updates and changes made by the brand for its new variable, the Racer Edition.

About the Exteriors -

Well, nothing has really changed. Still, to differentiate it with the regular Altroz, Tata Motors have made some noticeable changes -

• A RED color with BLACK stripes particularly for the Racer Edition

• A set of Black colored Alloy wheels

• A sporty Spoiler attached at the back

Despite of these additions or changes, the rest of the Altroz Racer is very identical from outside to a regular Altroz.

Moving into the Interiors -

The Interiors of the Altroz Racer will go under a decent cosmetic and technological update. Speaking of the cosmetical updates first, then the Altrozn Racer will get RED and WHITE stripes on all the seats. In fact, the stitching done on quite a few parts get that, too. Rest all of the interiors have been toned dark in order to get the sportiness more inside the cabin.

Now regarding the Technology in use -

Tata Altroz Racer does not only please people with its striking looks, but also with its exceptionally well chosen and put-together interiors. Especially, the technology brings more smiles, as it was the one due to get updated thoroughly. To talk in detail, the Altroz Racer gets quite a few major upgrades in the Technology factor -

A bigger 10-inch Infotainment system - This Infotainment system is a sleek and smooth unit to operate. It also uses an easy interface for the passengers to read it easily. It also packs a ton of features inside it, which by the way, are awesome in terms of their usage.

A better 7-inch TFT Instrument Cluster - This Instrument Cluster is coming straight out of the Harrier, well not the Top Model, but the models below the Top one. Anyway, this particular Instrument Cluster is also a work of art in its own way, as it receives a good package of easy to read interface and plenty of Information. Secondly, with this Instrument Cluster, the Altroz racer also becomes the first Hatchback in its segment to get a TFT display for Instrumentation.

A Sunroof - Well, this was one of the features which the Altroz was lacking a lot, but fortunately the iCNG version of Altroz did not wait for the Racer edition of the Altroz, and brought it first. Still, the Altroz Racer will also give the pleasures of having a Sunroof.

Tata Altroz Racer's Engine options

The Tata Altroz Racer outshines every other Hatchback in its segment with this aspect. Because even the sportier-looking i20 does not get any kind of upgraded engine performance, but Tata Motors didn’t go the Hyundai way. 

They offered an upgraded performance for the Altroz Racer, where the engine it will use is going to be - 1.2 L  Turbocharged Petrol Engine, producing 120 hp and 170 Nm of Torque. This output is about 10 hp more and 30 Nm of Torque more than the regular non Turbo version of the same engine. 

It is good that Tata Motors considered giving an uplifted performance in the Racer edition of the Altroz, as it would actually help them to distinguish the superiority of the Altroz over the Hyundai i20.

Tata Altroz Racer's Expected Launch Date

Tata Motors might get the Tata Altroz Racer launched in coming months of the year 2024. We expect it to happen in the 2024 Auto Expo of India.
