Most of the Indian car buyers are technologically driven buyers. They evaluate the value quotient in a car by analyzing how many features that car offers at its price. Currently, the most favorite feature of every Indian is a Panoramic sunroof, and after that is the ADAS. Well, the SUV which we will speak of does not have a sunroof but, it is soon going to offer ADAS at the cheapest price in India. This SUV already has a bigger hand in terms of offering staggering mileage figures having a 1.2 L Naturally aspirated Engine.
When it comes to such a mileage figure, we usually look only at the Marutis. And yes, this 25 kmpl mileage SUV is the upcoming 2025 Maruti Suzuki Fronx update. The Fronx was first launched back in 2023. It was launched to rival the Tata Punch, and it clearly did for some time but, the Punch again pulled off the first place for itself. Still, we can state that the Fronx is one the best-looking SUVs in its segment with design bits inspired by the elder sibling - the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Today, the Fronx also has a unique feature list compared to its rivals, Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Like, it gets a Heads up display that shows speed and other valuable information, Automatic Climate control as standard across all the variants, a 9-inch Infotainment screen, Smart Hhybrid Technology from Maruti that helps the SUV save fuel in stop-go traffic conditions, etc.
The 2025 Fronx will be the first SUV in its segment to offer this premium feature. The cheapest SUVs, currently, in India that offer ADAS are two of the compact SUVs in India - the Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Hyundai Venue (Venue being the first one to offer). With the inclusion of the ADAS in the 2025 Maruti Fronx, it will be the cheapest and most advanced SUV in its segment, as it already gets a lot.
Maruti Suzuki would most probably offer the Level-1 of ADAS, as it should also fit in the price bracket. The offering of Level-2 ADAS could stretch the price quite a bit, further making it enter the Compact SUV segment. This Level-1 ADAS will offer limited but useful features on the table - Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. These could be possible features coming with the 2025 Maruti Suzuki Fronx ADAS.
To speak of the Fronx rivals in detail - The Fronx competes against a total of six SUVs in its segment. Starting from the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.
Now, except for the Taisor, as it is based on the Fronx and shares the same features as the Fronx, we will not compare it. Coming to others, the Kiger-Magnite are again, based on each other, they have better space than the Fronx, the technology is decent, the Engines are quite powerful, and it also offers a CVT Gearbox. The Exter is totally based on the Hyundai Grand i10 because of which it lacks the SUV feel (So does the Fronx and Taisor) but, still offers a lot to compete in the segment. The Punch has been the king of the segment from the very beginning, as it was also the SUV that created this segment.
The 2025 Fronx could be launched in the coming year-end or in the initial period of 2025.
It will have a significant rise in its prices, as it will offer some premium appeal to its customers comparatively. We believe the new 2025 Maruti Fronx with ADAS prices could start from ₹8 lakhs and could climb up to ₹14 lakhs.
