The French automaker Citroen is trying to maintain its presence in the Indian Automotive market. Since the brand’s debut in the Indian industry, the brand has been consistent by  launching a product every year and even further the brand plans to do the same.

About the Citroen C3 AIRCROSS

Citroen C3 AIRCROSS, just like the C3 Hatchback will be completely made in India and it will be exported into other markets.

The C3 AIRCROSS is almost similar in terms of looks when compared to its hatch sister - C3, just with one catch that the car will be bigger in looks compared to the C3, as the rear has been lengthened to accommodate two extra seats in order to make it a 7-seater.

In terms of features, it carries a light bag! The C3 AIRCROSS just like the C3 lacks plenty of utilitarian features. LED headlamps, Electronically adjustable ORVMs, Rear AC vents, Automatic Climate control, etc such features are absent in Citroen’s upcoming 7-seater MPV.

The Interior of the car is exactly similar to that of the C3, though it packs few changes and additions to differentiate it from the respective. For example, 

• It gets a blower mounted on the roof for the Second and the Third row passengers 

• Some dashboard elements are redesigned to give it a different look ( mostly changed colours)

• It gets a new fully digital driver’s display which contains a decent amount of vehicular information

• New Alloy wheels

• Different rear profile, of course

And many more…

But, even though it misses out a lot of utility features, it has got a strong, lively and exciting 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine to power it. This particular engine is mated to a 6-speed Manual gearbox. With this, it generates about 110 PS & 190 Nm of Torque.

The Citroen C3 AIRCROSS is set to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Triber and recently launched Toyota Rumion. Though the price of the Citroen C3 AIRCROSS is not yet revealed, still we presume it to rival these cars based on its overall dimensions and Engine specifications. But, few speculations which are being made also state that it might also go head on with the C-1 segment cars which consists of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, etc.

Doesn't get an Automatic Gearbox

When the C3 AIRCROSS car was unveiled, Citroen disclosed almost all of the car’s details, excluding the it’s price. But, within those details, there was one disappointment. The C3 AIRCROSS is going to use the same Turbo charged engine which is used in the C3, 1.2 L - Turbo Petrol engine → 110 PS & 190 Nm of Torque and it will be mated to a 6-speed Manual gearbox, as said, thus, concluding that, just like the C3, it is unfortunate that it will not be getting an automated gearbox after the launch. Though Citroen has still mentioned that an Automatic gearbox is in the pipeline. And now it seems an Automatic gearbox is all ready to run that 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine.

An Automatic Gearbox debuted

Recently in the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Citroen unveiled the Indonesia spec Citroen C3 AIRCROSS. And this C3 AIRCROSS is different in a lot of terms when compared to the India spec C3 AIRCROSS. It is taller and Longer than the India spec model. But, one of the most exciting changes or additions of sorts it has got is a 6-speed Automatic gearbox. Yea, finally an automated transmission has been fitted to that beautiful 1.2 L Turbo petrol engine. Adding on it, this particular 6-speed automatic gearbox will also produce more torque when compared to its Manual sibling. Precisely, the Citroen C3 AIRCROSS now will get an Automatic gearbox which will produce around 15 Nm more Torque. Which ultimately makes an equation of 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine → 110 PS & 205 Nm of Torque.

About it's India Launch

Speaking of it’s Indian launch, this particular gearbox will not be launched now in India. As the C3 AIRCROSS has already been driven by the media. We assume that the brand might store this Automatic gearbox as a facelift upgrade, as it would be cost effective for them. Hence, it might get launched with the 2024 Citroen C3 AIRCROSS facelift. They might also bring it in the 2024 Citroen C3 facelift as well.

Price

As the official price of the C3 AIRCROSS has not been showcased yet, but comparatively, it will be priced noticeably higher than its Manual variant. We can expect a rise of ₹60,000 - ₹90,000 in the price.
