Ford has been gearing up to make a big banger comeback in the Indian Market for quite some time now, From hiring EV executives to Homologating Its 2024 Ford Endeavour in India, it's taking all possible steps to again make strides in India, and now Ford has Patented the Ford Mustang MACH-E in India making the comeback even more possible.

Ford filed a Trademark of the Ford Mach E

A few days ago, a filed trademark was leaked, which was of the Ford Mach E. Ford Motors already was hinting at its re-entry in India, as the 2024 Ford Endeavour patent was leaked. 

Well, the Ford Mach E’s trademark does not assure Ford’s complete re-entry, as Ford will most probably bring in the Mach E in CBU (Completely Built Unit) format. But, at least it is sure that a new Ford is coming to India. 

Why Ford is launching the Mach E in India?

The return of Ford Motors is most probably happening because of the rapid growth in the Indian automobile sector. The scope for one Car brand to go booming in terms of its sales, if the right decisions are made, is absolutely possible today. 

Moreover, the EV sector in Industry is also a Gold mine, which is why, we are seeing so many brands getting into the EV business now itself, when even the Infrastructure is messed up in India. Hence, the Ford Mach being a proper, premium EV, it makes sense that Ford launches this vehicle first. 

Ford Mach E Front Design

On the front, we get a typical closed grille, as this is an EV. We can still see a sort of semicircular fake grille, which is done just for the design embracement. The grille design also depends on the variants you buy, for example - The GT variant gets a Carbon-fiber-looking grille. The Mustang logo has been placed in the closed grille. 

Then we have a lower grille, which holds quite a few components. First, we can see the radar sensor for the ADAS functions. After that, we can see the four parking sensors placed in the grille. 

The Headlamps are traditionally designed, where we get two separately placed units. The housing of the headlamps contains a simple LED bar for the DRL. Below the DRLs, there have been four LED beams.

Ford Mach E Side Design

On the sides of the Mustang Mach-e For India, we have a coupe-like design for the SUV. Below, we have the sets of 20’ alloy wheels, that wear 245/45 section tires but for the India spec expect no more than 19 inchers (we always get smaller ones). The wheel arches are minimal. The Wheel claddings are also smooth, and they do not have the typical SUV-like boxy design in them. 

The doors have a very unique feature. They do not have a conventional handle to open the door, instead, they have buttons on the black pillars. These buttons can be operated to open the door, only when, the key fob is near the car. To pull the door, there is also a small bracket to do the needful. 

On the roof, we can see the coupe-like slope. It looks more sporty and adds coolness to the overall design language of the car. 

Ford Mach E Rear Design 

The rear design of the Ford Mach E is very stylish, thanks to those beautiful tail lamps. The tail lamps get a slightly smoked effect for the tail lamps. The design of the lamps is identical to the ones in the Mustang. Instead of the tail lamps, the rest of the design is very simple. 

Ford Mach E Interiors

The Ford Mach E is an EV that is filled with technology inside. Starting with a 15.5’ Infotainment system, which controls everything from Climate Control, Media controls, vehicular controls, etc. It also has a knob integrated into the lower part of the screen like a notch. It can be used for multiple purposes like a Volume adjuster, Fan speed, Temperature, etc. 

There is also a small 10’ flat screen, which works as the Instrument Cluster. It shows all the basic information like speed, ADAS functions, and other trip data, etc. The steering wheel also has a screen-like-looking thing, which is a camera that tracks the Driver’s eye for advanced Level 2 Driving assistance. 

The rest of the interiors are filled with rich and premium materials. The build quality of the components like the dashboard, screens, and the center console is rock-solid. The Mach E gets a Moon roof, instead, of a sunroof. The center console gets plenty of features, too, like two wireless chargers and rotary dials for changing drive modes. 

Ford Mach E Powertrain for India

The Ford Mach E has plenty of battery options but in India, we would get a 72 kWh battery pack, which could give a driving range of 400-500 km. The power figures of 266 hp and 430 Nm of Torque. This setup can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 5.8 seconds. 

Ford Mach E India Launch and Pricing

As of now, the Ford Mach E has just been trademarked in the Indian market. We could expect a wait of about 4 - 5 months, which means, the Ford Mach E will be launched in Mid 2024. 

The pricing will be on the higher side, as it is a premium EV. We predict the pricing to start from ₹ 60 lacs EX-showroom India
