Well, do not worry, as this is not a financial scam, it is just something that should not have been done, but still, it is. Moreover, when we hear Toyota in such cases, it is quite a bit more shocking, as such a hugely trusted brand, but still being named under such things. So, what is this scam done by Toyota? Why have mentioned ‘Supra’ in the title? Is it related to the Supra? Let us analyze today’s topic of How Toyota is scamming us with the Supra Mk5.

The Supra History -

When you think of Supra, well, you do not just think of a normal sports car, right? We mean, if there are people out there choosing the Supra over, maybe a better Ferrari or a Lambo, then obviously, something’s different about this vehicle that hits us right at the sweet spot. 

When we talk about the Supra, it is natural that we generate respect whilst we do that. Of course, it is evident that Supra has overpassed the tag of a ‘Supercar’ and become a ‘Legend’. Almost four decades of madness that this car carried with it was extreme.

This same madness is so viral all around the world that we hear kids hailing ‘Supra’ when they have their cute, yet senseless talks about supercars. This amount of craze is something else, in fact, you name some other car, whose name is stuck even in the kids’ mouths. Yeah, there are Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, etc, but have you heard kids taking the particular model’s name of these brands, whenever we hear this, it is just the brand name, right? But in the case of Supra, it is not. In fact, Supra now has created its own brand identity that even Toyota could not match, and if you would have noticed, then in this article till now, we did not even attach Toyota before ‘Supra’, but still, you got what we wanted to say. And this is what we are talking about!

Well, you remember, we asked you to name a supercar close to Supra in attracting so much craze? Well, there is one, the Nissan GTR . But, then again, there is Nissan coming before the mighty GTR.

The Scam - 

So, after such a brilliant definition of the legendary Supra’s fanbase, still, why do people have hate for it, back in their heads? 

There is this saying that One Bad Apple can spoil the whole Barrel, such is the case with the 2023 Supra. Decisions are crucial when it comes to cars like Supra, having a great history. Most of the time, it is better to make the decisions emotionally in such situations, it helps a lot. 

After, the previous segment’s explanation about the Supra’s greatness, it is sure that Supra is an emotion. Something to which people are connected, whether or not they possess it. So, making this decision emotionally, rather logically would have helped Toyota a lot. 

So, what was the bad decision, you might be questioned. Basically, a few years ago, Toyota announced that it was going to partner with BMW in order to create a sports car, which would also be a sibling to the BM’s Z4. Everyone thought that Toyota had halted the new Supra project for a while and was building a totally new sports car from scratch collaborating with the German. But, who knew that things were not the way, they were shown to us?

After a few years, Toyota unveiled the project they were working on, and then it was known that the Sports car that was going to be a rebadged Z4, was no one but the Supra itself. This was quite a shock back then, as pure enthusiasts were unhappy with this decision. 

The Supra had its own experience, it always carried its own unique royalty amongst the other sports cars. In fact, if a Japanese-engineered masterpiece is selected in a legendary American movie (Fast and Furious) to play the lead car throughout the cinema, it is quite a thing, right? The Japanese raw power that it had back then was something that everyone was a huge fan of. 

But with this new revolution that Toyota brought, tables were not turned they were thrown away. We do mean that German engineering is not supreme in front of the Japanese, as every creation has its own uniqueness, and this uniqueness is what is loved by us. We know that no German engineering could ever be matched by the Japanese, and no Japanese engineering could ever be matched by the Germans. Hence, this is why Supra stood apart. 

So, if all of a sudden someone tells a person going to buy a Supra because of the mad Japanese engineering that Supra now, gets a German-engineered engine. How is that person going to feel? Bad, right?

Okay, so after all this rant, does this mean that the 2023 Supra Mk5 is nothing but a worthless buy? To be honest, no! And we are not being hypocrites about this, as till now we have just talked about the bad of the Supra, when there are some goods, too. Well, the Supra is not available in India, but still, let us talk about this.

What is good about the Supra Mk5?

Thanos was right! Balance is important in the world, and so it is in this article. Thus, to balance out today’s talk, let us have some good points discussed about the new Supra, as well. 

So, there is plenty to talk about, when comes to the good. But, we shall select just one major point that is the most loved one, too. Well, this point is that the 2023 Supra Mk5 is the most modification-friendly sports car you could ever have, period. 

When you are buying a sports car, your most favored thing would most probably be the modifications, right? We mean, come on, everyone wants their sports car to look, sound and run differently. And if it's the Supra, it is definite that the modifications done or you want would be crazy. Secondly, by modifications, we do not mean normal cosmetic design changes, in fact, by this, we mean total tunning of the engine. So, it is quite serious when it comes to the Supra. 

Hence, to look forward to this, Toyota, when developing this car made one thing very clear, the Supra Mk5 should be the most modification-friendly vehicle out there. They consulted Japan’s most famous tuners to give some input in the engineering of the vehicle, so that, it would be easy to develop the new Supra with modification quotient in mind.

Supra Mk5 India Launch Date and Pricing - 

Well, after this analysis we just made we believe it is necessary to talk about the possibilities of the 2024 Supra Mk5’s India launch. Well, the launch date of the Supra Mk5 is too tough to even predict, as there are no chances of Toyota bringing the Supra Mk5 to India now. But, we shall not let our hopes down, right? So, we think that the Supra might be launched two years from now, that is 2026 in India.

Now, pricing is the major factor, as one thing is sure, whenever Toyota brings in the Supra, it will be a CBU unit. So, it will be made in Austria and then shipped to India, which then might give us a price tag above ₹1 crore .
