The Indian Auto Industry is currently in its best form. Being the Third largest in the World, the Indian Automobile Industry is not only growing in size but also transitioning into one of the most valuable industries. By this, we mean to say that India is currently getting one of the best products in the world, like other top industries - China and the USA. During all of this, India is about to get its Most Advanced SUV ever, which will be launched on 7 August 2024. We are speaking of the Curvv EV or the Curvv.ev by Tata Motors.
Tesla is famous for its innovation and technological advancements in its EVs. The first company to produce fully reliable self-driven cars in the world, and if their cars are self-driven then, you can have an idea of the amount and kind of features they would have, too.
The same case will be with the Curvv EV but, it will not be a self-driven car, unlike the Tesla. The Curvv EV will bring a crazy amount of features with itself. The sub-brand of Tata Motors, Tata.ev, which completely controls its EV business has shown what it is capable of with the Nexon.ev’s launch. They showed us some extraordinary engineering and feature offerings, which no one expected the facelifted Nexon EV to have.
First of all, Curvv EV will be a Born EV from Tata’s house. This means it will have a dedicated EV-based platform developed by Tata Motors - Acti.ev. This platform was first seen under the newest EV from Tata Motors - Punch.ev. The Curvv will sit on a bigger version of the Curvv EV.
The Curvv EV will set a new benchmark that will toughen the game a lot for its existing competition - the MG ZS EV. The Curvv EV will feature some supremely practical and technological features, like the Nexon EV. It will focus more on having pure EV traits rather than just having some particular features.
V2V charging (vehicle to vehicle), V2L charging ( vehicle to load), Arcade.ev, Phygital Control panel, Two spoke Steering wheel, Smart Digital shifter, 12.3 inch Infotainment screen, 10.25 inch Instrument Cluster, Multi-lingual voice assistant with Alexa, 9 speaker JBL sound system which will also have - ‘Kids sleeping back feature’ - shuts off Rear speakers, etc.
These features will be picked up right from the Nexon.ev, and above all these, we believe, the Curvv EV could get updated Arcade.ev, where we could see some major updates, like - Many more OTT platforms, Games, and other Entertainment amenities.
We could also see some premium-looking dance by the Curvv EV Headlamps and Tail lights, a better Regenerative Braking system, and powerful Motors with (maybe) a Two Motor setup.
The 12.3 inch Infotainment system will also undergo an update for better response. This screen will provide Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Detailed information on the Battrey & vehicle status, etc. We could get to see an electrically opening and closing Tailgate, too.
The Instrument Cluster wil be a 10.25 inch unit, whose main highlight will be displaying navigational maps from the Infotainment system. This screen will have a greener-looking as well as a clean interface for better understanding.
The DRLs of the Curvv will have the Battery Indicating feature - when the Curvv EV is put on charge, the DRLs will work as a battery indicator showing the amount of charge done.
The Curvv EV will also be Tata Motors’ and also it will be India’s first EV to have ADAS on board. The ADAS will facilitate the user with (most probably) 17 Assistive features, like Lane Keep Assist, Blind spot Reminder, Adaptive Cruise control, Automated Emergency Braking, etc.
The Curvv EV will host a bigger Battery pack compared to the Nexon.ev, which packs in a 40.5 kWh Battery pack. The Curvv EV will have a 55 kWh battery pack, which will help the SUV to have a real-world Driving range of a maximum - 450 km.
As said, there are a bit of possibilities where we could see a Two motor setup. This will make the Curvv EV to be India’s and also Tata Motors’ first EV to have AWD setup. This will help the SUV to perform better off-road.
The Curvv EV currently has only one existing competitor, which is from MG - the ZS EV. But, in the future, the Curvv EV will be given some serious competition from the upcoming Creta EV, Honda Elevate EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, BE05 from Mahindra, etc.
The Curvv EV will be priced on the premium side compared to the Curvv ICE. We expect it to start from ₹17 lakhs and climb up to ₹23 lakhs.
The Launch date of the Curvv is known to all, and it is 7 August 2024.
