Mahindra Scorpio-N has become one of the most successful SUVs to ever come from an Indian car maker, so to capitalize more on this big brand Mahindra is gearing up to launch the Pickup version of its Scorpio also named as the Scorpio-X in the Trademarks.

What could the new Mahindra Scorpio-X be?

Well, Mahindra being a pure SUV-only brand, it is sure that the Scorpio-X is nothing less than an SUV. But, things are a bit different. Remember, the time when Mahindra organized an event in Cape Town, South Africa? It was for all the new-age tractors and the Thar.e concept, but there was one more SUV out there, or a Pickup truck to be specific, the Scorpio N Pickup. 

According to our assumptions, the trademark filed for the Scorpio-X is for nothing but the production-ready version of the Scorpio N Pickup. 

Mahindra Scorpio-X Design 

The new Mahindra Pickup truck, which is the Scorpio-X, will be a Scorpio N-based pickup truck. Most of the pickup trucks will be similar to the SUV in terms of design and features. This pickup truck will also retain Mahindra’s lifestyle pickup truck line-up, as Mahindra discontinued its only lifestyle pickup truck, the Scorpio Getaway, in 2018. 

The Front of the pickup truck will have a similar design structure, with a high-standing nose. It will also have the slats on the grille, like other Mahindra SUVs. The Headlamps of the Scorpio pickup truck will be equipped with LED lighting, including the Indicators. Below them, the Scorpio-X will have a lot of rugged elements used to accompany the skid plate, and this pickup truck will also be primarily placed as another off-roading vehicle by Mahindra. 

On the Sides, the Scorpio-X will be longer than the Scorpio N, as it will have its luggage bed. The design of the alloy wheels will be different to contrast it from the Scorpio N’s alloy wheels, we believe the design will be more rugged and simple of the alloys. Other than this, the wheel arches and claddings will be similar to the Scorpio N. The main difference will begin from the C-pillar, where we could see an extension for the luggage bed of the Scorpio-X. The luggage bed is expected to be large enough to fit in a lot of stuff. 

The Rear of the Scorpio-X for India will be simple and will not have any curves to embrace the design. The trunk door of the Scorpio-X will equip vertical tail lamps, which will have LEDs in them. 

Mahindra Scorpio-X Interiors

The Interiors of the Scorpio-X pickup truckwill be identical to the Scorpio N. It will have some bits here and there to create a different consumer experience. The Scorpio-X could get a completely digital Instrument Cluster that will be 10’ in size, and a similar 10’ sized Infotainment screen, too. These screens will be powered by AdrenoX and will have all the new-age modern features like a 360-degree camera, Navigation, Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, etc.

Mahindra Scorpio-X Powertrain

Under the hood, it will pack the second generation of Mahindra’s Diesel engine, which will be an all-aluminum unit. It will also have its transmission sourced from AISIN - a 6-speed Automatic and a 6-speed Manual. This engine's power figures have not yet been revealed. 

Mahindra Scorpio-X Launch Date and Pricing

The price of the Mahindra Scorpio-X will be launched in 2025, as now the brand has just registered its name. The price of the Scorpio-X will start from ₹18 lacs and go up to ₹22 lacs. With these pricing, the Mahindra Scorpio-X will go head-on with the only lifestyle pickup truck in India, currently, the Toyota Hilux.
