Maruti Invicto spy shots revealed. Some Internal features nerfed

June 23rd, 2023

Maruti wants to extend their reach in market , and they have finally got a way of doing it with the help of Maruti Invicto. The Invicto will be unveiled and stated as the most premium Maruti ever and hopefully it will stand bold with this statement.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is scheduled to go on sale on July 5, but the MPV has already been spotted without its camouflage. Maruti Suzuki has launched reservations for the Toyota Innova Hycross's badge-engineered brother, the Invicto, for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000.

Exterior Cues from Spy Shots

Dealerships have begun receiving the Invicto, and photos indicate that it will have a different grille than the Hycross. The grille will still look essentially the same, but it will include two substantial chrome slats that extend into the headlights as well as a slightly altered mesh pattern. Additionally, it will have significantly modified headlights and Daytime Running Lamps in the distinctive three-block style of Nexa. The Invicto will not include fog lamps and will have a whole new front bumper design with a new faux skid plate.

The use of different alloy wheels and the absence of plastic cladding on the wheel arches are the two greatest distinctions in profile between the Invicto and the Innova Hycross. The Invicto receives new alloy wheels that, at first view, resemble those on the second-generation Baleno extremely closely.

The Invicto receives Maruti's three-block design for the taillights, which is the sole visual difference between the two MPVs in the rear.

Internal Features Nerfed

Innova Hycross features which were nerfed in the Toyota Innova Invicto

According to our sources, Maruti is considering removing some or all of the ADAS systems from the Invicto due to the vehicle's high price but little perceived usability and value. Despite breaking new territory in terms of pricing, Maruti is nonetheless determined to control expenses and avoid fully destroying the value proposition connected with the brand.

To attain a competitive price placement, a few more high-end convenience features might also be eliminated. These could include extras like the JBL sound system, the driver's seat's memory setting, or even the motorized tailboard.

The Invicto would have cost more than an identical Innova Hycross since it was built on Toyota's TNGA-C chassis and used their 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid engine. The Invicto, on the other hand, is probably not going to seem like an expensive option with a lower top-end sticker price.

Powertrain and Performance

Maruti Suzuki's Hybrid Powertrain layout

With the Invicto, Maruti Suzuki will only provide a potent hybrid engine. The 184 horsepower, 2.0-liter gasoline engine is paired with an electric motor in this powertrain, which is connected to an e-CVT transmission. It will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to only be available with an automatic transmission because there won't be a manual alternative.

Maruti has already confirmed that there will be no diesel and petrol variants for the premium MPV, Maruti used the excuse of using a carbon-friendly hybrid tech but the real issue is that Suzuki does not want to go premium with their Invicto, because more premium vehicles are on the line for the NEXA showrooms such as the Grand Vitara 3-door.

Price, Rivals, and Launch

Like the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Invicto will be manufactured at Toyota's Bidadi facility alongside the Hycross. Due to Kia's recent decision to stop manufacturing the Carnival MPV in India, Invicto will only compete against its Toyota sister. On July 5, the Invicto’s prices will be released. The Hycross hybrid costs between Rs 25.03 lakh and Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), for reference.

The Invicto has a chance of dominating the market, as it has that SUZUKI logo over it. Doesn't matter it is actually is a Toyota underneath, it will surely have some traditional Toyota traits in it, but, that logo is enough to compensate with all of that. And with all the key technology left behind from the Innova Hycross, we still think it might well in the market.
