New 2023 Tata Safari facelift teased with Discovery Like looks

October 4th, 2023

The Tata Safari is Tata Motors’ flagship offering today. It is a 7-seater SUV, which carries the purpose of being versatile, good-looking, and rugged. And now, the Tata Safari is about to get better, as the brand has teased its new avatar for 2023. Meet the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift.

2023 Tata Safari Facelift teaser

This facelift is bound to fix almost all the issues and requests that customers were facing and also to make the Tata Safari up-to-date as per modern requirements. Thus, Tata Motors kicked off the show by teasing the vehicle on social media.

With respect to the media footage of the vehicle, we will try to discuss the new New 2023 Tata Safari facelift, which was teased, and see how it uses its long relative, Land Rover Discovery’s Like looks.

Exteriors

New Front fascia

2023 Tata Safari Facelift front design

Thanking the Tata Curvv concept, as it provided an idea. The idea, which re-designed and revised the messy pre-facelift Tata Nexon’s front fascia, made it look the best of all from its segment, with the help of the 2023 Tata Nexon Facelift’s launch. The same is the case, which we will be seeing in the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift. Earlier, it was not really going with the overall stance and the design language of the car, but with the help of the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s teaser, it looks more proportionate, stylish, and handsome. More of it, we will be talking about at the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s launch.

New Front Grille

2023 Tata Safari Facelift design

Currently, on the pre-facelift Tata Safari, the front grille seems to be designed by a different person, as it stands totally different compared to the rest of the design language. Therefore, the front grille was the very first thing which should have been changed by the brand, and they have finally done it.

The new grille is more plush, symmetrical and feels uniform when we look at it through the means of the teaser. Especially the new design elements over the grille steal the show! They are kind of angular bars which are accumulated at both sides of the grille, and then they slowly fade away once they move towards the Tata logo in the middle. Though this is not an Electric Vehicle, the grille still seems to be kept completely closed. So, no air intake work will be done through the grille of the Tata Safari.

We can also spot the front Camera unit of the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s 360-degree camera system. The front unit can be seen placed just below the logo. And we already know how fluent and premium that unit is in terms of its usability.

New LED Headlamps

2023 Tata Safari Facelift LED headlamps

The 2023 Tata Nexon’s Facelift launch cleared one thing, “No Tata SUVs will have Halogen headlamps from now on”. And the 2023 Nexon facelift is an example of it, and now so is the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, too.

The teaser shows us the design pattern of the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s front, as there is a clear inspiration taken from the concept Curvv. And it is absolutely acceptable. Because it now creates a heritage in terms of design between all the Tata SUVs. And thanks to this new turn of design, we get LED headlights as standard on the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift.

We can see that a similar design for the housing of the headlights has been carried over here, like the Nexon facelift. The units are placed on both sides, and a black straight line connects both of them. Most probably, these units will consist of one primary LED projector beam and two foglamps stacked below the projector beam.

New connected DRLs

After the new LED Headlamps over the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, new DRLs are going to be the talk of the town. Well, technically, they are carrying forward the original design of the DRL strips on both sides of the pre-facelift Safari, but with a twist this time! Now, they are connected to each other, as a long bright LED strip connects them to each other. This indeed looks more appealing and gives an upright posture indirectly to the vehicle. It provides a fresh and modern feel and vibe when you look at it. After all, Tata Motors has also joined hands with the popular trend of connected DRLs.

New Air dam design

Pre-facelift Tata Safari’s front design, as said, was a mess. It did not know what it was trying to convey in terms of its design, and it was also going in the opposite direction from the rest of the vehicle’s design.

But, this time, on the new 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, it is clever and attractive, too. It suits the silhouette of the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, and it promotes the stance of the vehicle even more now; it just looks perfect on what it is made of. It is a WOW! Factor. Though we cannot really see any of the design details of the front, we can still make it out because now, we have the 2023 Tata Nexon Facelift as our context.

We can even see two Front Parking sensors attached over the low bumper unit.

After blabbering so much about the front of the vehicle, now it is time to move on to the rear profile, as the back end has also been teased.

New connected Tail lamps

2023 Tata Safari Facelift Tail lights

Currently, on the pre-facelift Safari, the tail lamps do have an LED function in them. But, this time, Tata Motors took it even towards a cooler side, as this time they have literally made it look completely 3D. Earlier, there was just because of that black bar in which the LED tail lamps used to house themselves, but now that black bar has been carried forward with an addition of 3D design to the brake light.

The brake light now extrudes off the black bar to make themselves appear more realistic and kind of insert a lift in them. And not only this, but they now look more sharp and edgy,  Tata Motors kind of went towards the Skoda-way. But, they look good, as they provide a character to the vehicle.

Going more deeply into their design factor, they are now connected, as said earlier. Not only this, they also now take a U-turn and navigate themselves below the primary tail light. This design factor creates an angular look and is an attractive factor for the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift.

The Turn indicators have also been placed on both sides in between the LED tail lamps. And the indicators also have a sequential operating function, like on the 2023 Tata Nexon Facelift. Talking of the Reverse light, then like on the Nexon facelift, the reverse light will most probably be attached below on the lower half of the rear end; more of it is spoken of ahead in the article.

This brake light, consisting black bar, also houses the brand’s logo in the middle of it. And just below the Tata logo, we can spot the rear unit of the vehicle’s 360-degree camera system.

Subtle design changes

If we talk about what is changed visually on the rear end of the vehicle, then there are slight differences here and there.

2023 Tata Safari Facelift rear design

Firstly, If you will observe, below the LED Tail lamps, there has been a design treatment given, which looks more like a smile. It is subtle, as said, and it looks good, too.

Secondly, you might notice a design feature from the front has been attached at the back as well. Yep, it is over the lower end of the rear profile. The Headlamp design at the front, which has been shown connected by giving that design element to it, has been used at the back, too. This has been done to maintain the singularity and consistency of the design. This provision also hubs the reverse light on both sides, as we talked about earlier.

Thirdly, the lower bumper has been re-designed as well. On the pre-facelift model of the Safari, where the lower bumper at the rear is simple and basic in terms of its design, the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s debut puts a bit of style into it. A waveform kind of design has been crafted over the silver lower bumper.

And thankfully, this time, there are no Exhausts pipes visible, thus far!

Interiors

New digital Instrument Cluster

Like on the Nexon Facelift, the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s unveiling event will also unveil a new fully digital instrument cluster. This is a superb unit, as seen in the Nexon’s facelift. It is purposeful, it looks modern, and it is a feature-rich unit, too. Hence providing a tone of important and utility information to the driver.

New Ambient lightings

2023 Tata Safari Facelift ambient lighting

Unlike the pre-facelift Safari, the interiors of the new 2023 Tata Safari Facelift are more premium. They were already rich in terms of their visual appeal, but now they are even more pleasing. As we can see, an ambient light strip runs throughout the dashboard of the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift. We presume this particular ambient light to be customizable in terms of its visual appearance (color options).

New bigger Infotainment system

Unlike the current pre-facelift Tata Safari - which already gets a much bigger Infotainment system, this newly teased 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, Tata Motors has got an even bigger Infotainment system for it. We assume it to be around 12 inches in its size. It contains the same UI which was introduced in the new Tata Nexon facelift.

We also assume that it could get the Arcade app, like the one in the Nexon.ev. But, the chances are meagre. Basically, this application lets you install various OTT entertainment applications and even games to play on the screen. As said, it cannot be confirmed now, and we will have to wait for the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift’s launch date.

New Two-spoke Steering wheel

2023 Tata Safari Facelift steering wheel

Tata Motors is about to become the most feature-rich car brand in the country. And they have kick-started this particular journey already by launching the extraordinary Tata Nexon Facelift. And the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift is going to be their next smarty to join this party!

The Two-spoke steering wheel concept, which was unveiled in the curvy concept, was first seen in the Nexon facelift, and now it can be seen in the 2023 Tata Safari Facelift, as well. What it does is that it is a two-spoke steering unit, which contains a glossy black unit in between it. This particular glossy black unit consists of 3 sub-units within it -

  • A Tata logo illuminating screen in the middle, which also performs as the vehicle’s horn.
  • Two Steering-mounted button units on both sides to toggle vehicular information through both screens (Instrument Cluster and Infotainment System).

Conclusion

Concluding this discussion with one saying - We are undoubtedly excited for the new 2023 Tata Safari facelift, as it brings solid hopes and ambitions with it. The new avatar is a definite example of what and how Tata Motors will behave in the future, and we have to say they are going to rock it out.
