​Since MG India was acquired by JSW, the future plans and overall company’s presence in India has quite changed. JSW even organized an event, where they presented all MG’s future plans in India, and how MG will be India’s next Maruti Suzuki. Well, one of MG’s future plans has officially been spotted undisguised, and it is the 2025 MG Astor facelift in India. With the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Grand Vitara, etc will this MG’s Mid-size SUV do good? Let us find this out by discussing the 2025 MG Astor’s India launch and the features it will offer. 

2025 MG Astor Hybrid Design 

The 2025 MG Astor carries an evolutionary design, as it has gotten a redesigned fascia only. It has a crystal-like design for its grille, which sits below a blue light that connects both the Headlamps. This blue line highlights the fact that the 2025 MG Astor is a Hybrid. The use of chrome on the grille has been avoided to make it more sleek and stylish. We can also see scoops on both sides for better design appeal, these scoops also consist of small Blue LED lines as it is a hybrid vehicle. 

The Headlamp units hold a simple LED projector setup with Indicators. The LED DRLs of the SUV sit above the headlamp unit. We can also see the front unit of the 360* Camera system. 

The Side of the 2025 Astor sees almost no changes, as the design is very much identical to the ongoing model of the Astor. The 17’ alloy wheel design, wheel claddings & arches, and window area follow the same design language as the Indian spec MG Astor. 

The Rear, too, sees minimal changes, as the tail lamp design and the rest of the rear fascia are the same. 

2025 MG Astor Hybrid Interiors

The cabin of the 2025 MG Astor Hybrid will have a major upgrade in both terms - Technology and Design. The 2025 Astor will have a premium-looking dashboard equipped with shiny inserts here and there. The technology front has a 10.25’ Instrument Cluster and Infotainment system. These screens are packed with new-age MG software. This consists of a new interface for the tachometer and speedometer. The Infotainment screen will also pack wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360* Camera system, voice-assisted features, etc. These screens will also showcase the real-time battery status. 

Below the Infotainment screen, we can see a metallic panel that holds a few touch-sensitive buttons for quick functions. The AC vents have been placed lower down in the dashboard, they also have a blue accent on them. 

The Center console consists of the Drive selector, which has been given crystal treatment. The Electronic Parking Brake and the Auto hold button have been placed behind the Drive selector stick. Moreover, the center console also has an empty place below it, as the console has been lifted. This storage compartment packs a few charging points. 

The safety quotient of the 2025 MG Astor is very much filled, as it gets ADAS Level 2, ABS with EBD, Traction control, Six Airbags, etc. 

2025 MG Astor Hybrid Engine Specifications

The 2025 MG Astor Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5 L Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine mated to a Battery. 

The 1.5 L Engine produces 109 hp and 142 Nm Torque, whereas, the Battery is capable of producing 95 PS and 200 Nm Torque. 

All this is connected to a CVT Gearbox. Secondly, this combination will also provide an excellent mileage figure, which is said to be around 25 Kmpl.

The 2025 MG Astor has already been spied uncamouflaged in India, so, we believe the launch is around the corner, as well. With the increase in the competition and upgradation made by rivals like Hyundai Creta, the current generation Astor is way behind. We expect the 2025 MG Astor Hybrid to arrive in India by the end of 2024. 

The 2025 MG Astor Hybrid will be priced higher with respect to its hybrid technology coming in. The 2025 MG Astor Hybrid’s Expected ex-showroom price could start from ₹12 lakhs and go up to ₹20 lakhs.
