Mahindra has been testing their 5 door Thar for quite a while now, and now we have got some new spy shots detailing some new information about the New upcoming Indian Rubicon.
If you are not aware of this, then basically, this is not the first time that we have spotted the 5-door Thar on test. So, we are already aware of most of its upcoming features, one of which is the set of LED Headlamps. But, the one that we are looking at in this article right now does not pack that particular feature; it contains a Halogen unit. This further takes us to a probable conclusion that this might be one of the variants that sit below the Top variant. Now, how do we know this? Well, the answer to this question is in our next spotting.
We can spot the identical alloys that the current 3-door Thar has to those on the 5-door Thar, as well. They look slightly similar, as they, too, have five spokes in them. The only difference is that the ones in the 3-door Thar have a squarish shallow design in each of its spoke. On the other hand, the ones that we can see on this 5-door Thar do not have any kind of such design; they look plain and basic. Moreover, about the rubber they are wearing, it is All-Terrain, too.
On the front lower bumper, we can see a set of Halogen Foglamps. These lights also give us a confirmation that this is not a lower variant.
A same designed Grille on the 3-door Thar can be seen on the 5-door Thar, as well. Now, this is a bit weird because if you have a look at our previous 5-door Thar spy shot article, you will notice that there is this completely new Grille on that vehicle. So, this is confusing us now, as even we are unaware of what Mahindra is doing?
So, the Mahindra Thar 5-door, when it was spied previously, was seen with a much better Grille than what we can see in these pictures. So, if you have an escape from something bad, then why ignore it? Mahindra is doing the complete opposite of this.
Back in 2020, when the Thar was first launched in its third generation, one of the most talking points was, in fact, the hood locks. They are so unconventional yet manage to look classy.
So basically, usually, we have a button inside the car, which opens the hood partially, and then further, you have to step out and pull the lever under the hood to open it, so kind of you have two locks. But on the Thar, there is no button inside the car to open the hood; all it has are these simple locks, which are the only things that can lock the hood in the first place.
Well, again, we have to accept that it has been done on purpose to increase the overall appearance of its design, and the same can be seen carried on the -door Thar.
We expect the 5-door Thar to launch in India by the mid of 2024.
