October 26th, 2024

Nissan’s new approach in the Indian market has definitely not been that well-understood by many but, it surely consists of some exciting products coming in India. A very recent example is the X-Trail, which has been launched in India through the CBU route and is expensive, but still, a much-needed one, as the brand had only one car in its showrooms - the Nissan Magnite. Well, there have been speculations that Nissan is considering bringing its Patrol to India by 2026, and here are all the details -

About Nissan Patrol

The Nissan Patrol is the brand’s flagship SUV that rivals the likes of Land Rover Defender, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedes GLS, etc. The Patrol is a very famous and preferred SUV in International markets, especially in the UAE.

Nissan Patrol’s origins come from its very old 4W60 SUV, known as the Nissan Jeep, which was launched in 1951. This SUV was a pure classic SUV, which the world had back in the time. Then, after almost four generations .i.e after 1997, the SUV started taking the shape that it popularly has today. The current model of the Patrol is its seventh generation and it is soon going to launch internationally by 2025.

The Patrol has been one of the top SUVs in the world, alongside the Land Cruiser, Defender, X7, Prado, etc. It is popular for the Desert Safaris in the UAE, which is mostly preferred. The Patrol was never launched in India, though a lot of celebrities and politicians seem to have imported from other RHS markets to India in order for a better public image.

2025 Nissan Patrol Design

Nissan Patrol has received its seventh generational update after almost 13 years. This new 2025 Patrol packs an identical structural presence compared to its predecessor but, has gotten a lot of new mechanical and technological components.

To speak of its design, on the front, we have got a tall-standing hood with a huge grille. The upper half of the grille contains Nissan’s logo with two chrome bars intersecting it. The logo also houses the 360-degree camera’s front unit. Lower down, there is long rectangular housing for the LED foglamps and front Radar for the ADAS. The Headlamp unit has a connected LED DRL, which converts into an E-shape on both sides covering the LED beams of the SUV. The front ADAS Camera can be seen behind the windscreen.

The Side of the Patrol is massive and long. The Patrol has an option of three different designs and sizes for its alloy wheels, the ones seen in the image are of 22 inches and are diamond cut. The Patrol also gets a logo illuminating puddle lamp below the doors. Overall, the comfort is increased in the SUV by adding the Air suspension setup (only in the Top Model). The Patrol runs a lot of straight, simple lines throughout its body in order to maintain the boxyness of the SUV. The window area of the SUV is large and spacious, and it also gets Dual Tone treatment on the top model. The SUV also offers a Panoramic sunroof on top with a Shark fin antenna.

The rear end of the SUV is a 90-degree cut and has a massive rear windscreen. It also gets connected treatment for the tail lamps at the rear with the same sort of E-shape on both ends of the tail lamps. It obviously has an electronically operating tailgate with gesture-opening to lift that long tailgate. The Patrol also offers massive skid plates at the lower back to protect from any off-road bashing.

Overall, the design of the 2025 Patrol has changed a lot compared to its previous generation. The Patrol has massively cut down on the chrome use throughout the design language of the SUV. Moreover, it has opted for a lot more boxy design this time around.

The 2025 Nissan Patrol has dropped the use of Diesel engines from this generation and decided to go for Petrol-use only. With that said, the Patrol uses a 3.5 L V6 engine but, with two iterations -

3.5 L V6 - It produces 316 hp and 386 Nm torque. It is mated to a 9-speed Automatic Gearbox.

3.5 L V6 Twin Turbo - It produces a much more 425 hp and 700 Nm torque. It is also mated to the same 9-speed Automatic gearbox.

This engine also offers six electronic Driving modes - Rock, Sand, Eco, Mud, Standard, and Sport. It also offers an electronic Differential Lock for better off-roading.

The Nissan Patrol is being considered to be launched in India by 2026. So, the important factor about its pricing. We expect Nissan to bring the Patrol through the CBU route, as they did with the X-Trial. This will definitely increase the prices of the Patrol in India. Moreover, the Patrol will be made available in only one variant, and one of the two engines - We assume Nissan to bring the 3.5 L V6 Twin Turbo’s Top variant to India.

We believe the Patrol could be priced at ₹2 Cr with its 3.5 L V6 Twin Turbo’s Top variant.
