Scorpio N Pickup Spied for the first time, looks bigger than Toyota Hilux

November 15th, 2023

Scorpio Classic’s Pickup, or the Scorpio Getaway, did not work in India that much back when it was launched. Well, we shall also make one thing sure, back then, there was not much hype for the Pickup Truck segment. But today, things are different today there has been a transition that we all have gone through, and now, maybe it is the right time for every car maker to get their Pickups out, and finally, Mahindra seems to be the first one to do so, obviously after the Japanese legend, Toyota. Well, how are we sure of this, you ask? Then, basically, very interesting footage tells us that the Scorpio N Pickup Spied for the first time, and it has a Massive Presence.

About the Scorpio N Pickup spy shots

Mahindra Scorpio N pickup spied

It was spied in the streets of India - mostly in South India. It was seen with a completely camouflaged body, which was hiding quite a few details about the pickup truck, but still, we were able to get something out of it. Here are the key details/features that we might get to see -

Huge Luggage bed behind -

It is most obvious that the pickup version of the Scorpio N will have its length increased, as it will pack a luggage bed behind its cabin. This increased length will cater mostly to the luggage bed, as said, which will ultimately give a better aspect of practicality to the truck.

The luggage bed on the spied Scorpio N pickup looks very basic, though. It seems to be very boxy and plain in terms of its design. But we presume that this luggage bed design is mostly for the test mules of the Scorpio N pickup, and a better-designed luggage bed will be attached once it gets ready. We can expect a similar design to the luggage bed, which was shown back in Cape Town, South Africa.

New Fuel Tank Position -

We can see the fuel filler cap positioned way towards the rear end, onto the outer side of the luggage bed. Well, this simply tells us that it might get a bigger fuel tank, as the position of the filler cap has been rear set, and anyway, it is very obvious that the fuel tank might get its size increased, as now, there is more room to store stuff underneath. Still, we shall not expect any bigger jump in its size; a minor jump might take place this time.

Automatic Transmission for the Scorpio N Pickup -

We can also spot the same Alloy wheels that we get on the Top automatic variants of the Scorpio N. Hence, this tells us that an automatic variant is sure on the pickup version. However, it was pretty concrete that it would get one, as it was announced back in South Africa itself. But it is just that we are sure that the test mule is running on an Automatic Transmission.

About the Scorpio N Pickup Concept

The Scorpio N Pickup was first showcased in early 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. Over there, with the electric Thar 5-door concept, the Scorpio N Pickup was shining bright and bold.

It had a presence, about which it gave a teaser right at that time. Huge wheels, Massive muscles, and humongous structure gave us a masculine urgency to get one right after seeing it.

More about the showcased concept -

The Showcased Scorpio N Pickup concept was promised to be launched in 2025, but unfortunately, not in India at first. Well, yes, Mahindra informed us that the Scorpio N Pickup will first be launched in South African, Australian, and ASEAN markets, as those are the ones having a huge demand for pickup trucks, and after all this, it will be launched in India.

Powertrain Options -

Mahindra also told us that the Scorpio N will have its power generated with the Second Generation of their MHawk Diesel engines, which will be developed with the use of Aluminium. It will have more power than what the 2.2 L MHawk Diesel engines generate.

Off-road Capabilities -

It will also be more capable off the road, as it will be a rugged pickup truck. It will be equipped with all kinds of amenities to fulfill the off-road requirements, and it will also have its technology used in off-roading, currently in the SUV version upgraded and upscaled for a better, plus smooth experience.

Interiors -

The interiors of the Scorpio N Pickup were not showcased, and neither were talked about, but we expect the interiors to be an evolution of the current Scorpio N’s interiors. New screens, New touch finishes, and a better experience overall are heavily anticipated from what Mahindra has been doing nowadays with their SUVs.

Expected Launch of the Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup

As we were exposed to the concept of the Scorpio N’s pickup version earlier this year, we expect the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup to launch in late 2025.

Expected Price of the Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup

Mahindra Scorpio N pickup will be a rival to the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu V-cross, so we presume its prices to commence from ₹30 lakhs - ₹35 lakhs .
