We all are aware of the fact that who is the world’s safest car brand? It is Volvo, right? With all the excessive and precise testing that they do with each of their vehicles is commendable. In fact, after they are done testing their vehicle’s safety, there is no need for a third-party agency to conduct any. Well, we have to praise Volvo for that, but do you know, even we Indians have our own Volvo-like brand, which does not need any tests to prove their cars’ safety? If you don’t, then we are talking about Tata Motors. Even they have been acing the safety standards with almost each and every one of their cars. But, there were two left, the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari, and as these two bad boys had gotten their facelifts, Tata Motors decided to get them tested, finally. And it is no surprise to tell that Tata broke Global NCAP’s record with its 2023 Safari and Harrier Facelift.
So, let us take a deep dive into this matter and try to learn about the limits that the 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier broke.
Basically, the Safari and the Harrier are both Tata Motors’ flagship SUVs. The Harrier is at the top when it comes to 5-seater Tata SUVs, and on the other hand, the Safari is at the top when it comes to 7-seater Tata SUVs.
They both are like twins, with the Safari equipped with two extra seats. This year, 2023, they got a much-needed update, or to be precise, a comprehensive facelift. This facelift indeed brought them well above the competition.
Having an ageless design to them, which you look at from any angle, it just becomes more attractive. Different purposes both the SUVs carry along with them. On one edge, the Harrier tries to strike the young audience full of enthusiasm, whereas the Safari proves to have sheer elegance and luxury.
After almost five years for the Harrier and three years for the Safari, Tata Motors finally got these two big boys tested. And man-o-man, they have broken all the records, and how!
Both of these SUVs scored the most amount of ratings by any car sold in India - 33.05 points for Adult Safety and 45.00 points for Child Safety.
Till now, the India-made German cars Volkswagen Taigun / Virtus and Skoda Kushaq / Slavia were holding the record of being the safest cars in India. 29.64 points for Adult Safety and 42.00 points for Child Safety.
But now, even they have been surpassed by the Indian giant Tata Motors’ Harrier and Safari.
The 2023 Tata Safari comes equipped with a total of 9 Airbags, whereas the 2023 Tata Harrier comes with 7 Airbags on offer.
In this Crash test, whatever Airbags were there in both vehicles, all of them were deployed without any flaws.
After the crash, the Structural Integrity of both vehicles was also STABLE, and the Side Impact Protection Doors’ durability after the Side Pole crash was also INTACT.
ESC ( Electronic Stability Control ) performed GOOD , as per the Global NCAP test results.

Co-driver -
The Footwell area was reported as STABLE.
Both Driver and Co-driver’s results -
The Head, Chest, Abdomen, and Pelvis ( Joint between legs and Backbone) showed GOOD protection.
All the factors regarding the Child Safety test worked well and the 2023 Safari and Harrier, further passed the test, scoring 45.00 points.
Overall, the 2023 Tata Safari and the 2023 Tata Harrier have proved to be India’s new safest vehicles. They surpassed the former safest vehicles, the VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia, as mentioned earlier.
This undoubtedly could be a good sign for both the cars, the Safari and the Harrier, as these test results could bring a substantial boost in their sales compared to the pre-facelift model.
