Upcoming SUV Tata Sierra – Top Things To Know

February 25th, 2025

Tata Motors is also all set to bring back one of its classic SUVs, the Tata Sierra, which would launch in the latter half of 2025. Recently, the heavily camouflaged model of the Sierra was seen during road testing on Indian roads, sending car lovers abuzz with enthusiasm. The new Sierra is set to roll out in internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) both, targeting every category of customer.

The Sierra is one of the Indian automobile industry's most beloved cars because of its innovative design and path-breaking philosophy when it was launched in the early 1990s. The new model continues the same legacy with a contemporary twist but adhering to the original essence. Here are the top five things you should know about the highly anticipated Tata Sierra SUV.

1. Design – A Perfect Blend of Retro and Modern

Tata Sierra has always been identified with its unique design, and the latest one remains loyal to its heritage and yet brings forth contemporary aspects as well. The latest spy shots validate that the test mule is from the ICE variant since it can be seen sporting a central air inlet at the front.

The front fascia features a split headlight arrangement, comprising LED daytime running lights (DRLs) in a connected form and stacked LED headlamps vertically. This aesthetic follows not just for better road presence for the SUV but also to stick with Tata's new design language, like in the case of the Harrier and Safari.

2. Interior – Minimalist Yet Feature-Packed

Tata Sierra 2025 Interior

Although the interior of the newly seen test vehicle is a secret, Tata had unveiled the interior of the Sierra ICE at the Auto Expo 2025. The cabin employs a minimalist design theme but provides a premium and futuristic vibe.

One of the most prominent features of the interior is the floating three-screen arrangement, which runs along the dashboard. The multi-screen design adds to the tech-oriented charm of the SUV, offering a smooth digital experience. The cabin also includes yellow highlights that match the color scheme of the exterior, introducing a splash of color.

The steering wheel is in Tata's new design language, with the four-spoke setup sporting an LED-lit Tata logo in the middle. The design has already been out in other Tata SUVs like Harrier and Curvv and should provide multifunction controls for convenience.

3. Features – Loaded with Modern Tech

While the full list of features for the production-spec Sierra is yet to be announced, we can anticipate Tata Motors to load the SUV with a plethora of premium features. Some of the expected features are:

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Multi-color ambient lighting

On the safety front, the Sierra is expected to come with an extensive suite of features, including:

  • Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)

  • Electronic stability control (ESC)

  • Front and rear parking sensors

  • Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

With these advanced features, the Tata Sierra is set to compete with the top players in the compact SUV segment.
